Default Magazine extension

I'm thinking about installing mag extensions on my Glock 19... Does anyone have a good/bad opinion with this set-up?

Whatever you do, make sure they function flawlessly before serious use. I hear some, not many, reports of issues with mag function.
I have the Pierce extension +1 for my G27. Don't count on the +1. Makes for better grip, but that is all. I think they false advertise. I should have gotten the +0. There are those who will jump with solutions....do this...do that. No sale. In a G27 by the time you add the extension, you are better off with a G23 anyway.
I like the GAP plates.
Sorry I can't help you with a G19. I do not own one.

I have a +2 extension on my 27 and I love it, the +1 and +0 are still too small for my hand, but the +2 is awesome and is perfect for my hand, it also shoots flawlessly.

They don't limit you to the number of extra mags you can carry. Heh.

The mag extension is more for comfort than extra rounds on a sub compact, most hands just don't fit properly without an extension. That is if you have real Man hands!

Good point. OTOH (heh), comfort may also depend on personal preference. I had no problem competing with a Glock 26 with a dangling pinky. Some other competitors wondered why I wasn't bothered. I didn't have an answer.

Ehem ....I am not going to install a +2, (the math does not work for a civilian) using my 9 round capacity Glock 27 magazine, unless I am a LEO.
9+2 is 11.....Har...har!!
I have to add that the functionality of the Pierce grips in my experience have been flawless.

I understand, I actually modified mine by adding an extra spacer inside, so it only fits 10 rounds.

I didn't do it for the extra rounds, but rather for the better grip.

Thanks for all the input... I guess it comes down to personal choice. When they arrive I'll install them and post my thoughts.

If you're going to add a mag extension to have the gun better fit, why didn't you go with a 17 or 23?

I can't vouch for other's reasons but I got the subcompact G27 for the smaller dimensions overall. I wanted it because I am a slim build and larger guns print more with some of my clothes. I also wanted the option to go OWB on occasion in the winter. However, the grip in the G27 is very, very small. I put the extions on the mags so that the gun doesn't jump out of my support hand (even when I have a death grip on it) when my hands are sweaty. The back edge of the grip is the same length with or without the extension and that is where I tend to print (along with the back of the slide). It works for me...
