I likewise use Slim Concealed Carry Grips on my Ultra Carry and have ordered some for my Custom CDP.

In my case the primary motivator is the size of my hands. I have short stubby fingers and am not able to get enough finger on the trigger when the Kimbers are properly indexed in my hand for holster presentations and subsequent sight indexing. This is one of the reasons I gravitated toward J-Frame revolvers as primary carry weapons as I got older.

CCWI actually diagnosed this problem from my recent Custom CDP Range Report. Pretty impressive considering CCWI and I have never met and he has never seen me shoot.

I put some Diamondwood Wilson Combat Concealed Carry Slim Line Grips on my Ultra Carry and have ordered some Cocobolo Wood Grips for my new Custom CDP.

Slim Line Grips

In addition to working very well in fixing my shooting problems with the Kimbers, they also look and feel very good and improve carrying comfort as well.

Thanks,

I can't wait to see all you smooth grippers at Burro this summer.

I get dibs on the first Ultra Kimber that heads down range without its owner!!

And some of us have the opposite problem. At least those with a small grip found a way to both make the gun more concealable and better fitting as far as grip.

Thanks for letting me know on the loctite, I have both Blue and Red here at work.

Actually I would love to handle and shoot yours when you get it set up. If you don't mind returning a favor?

Slim to win for CCW. I am a little worried my larger hands might take away the feel for me when shooting though.

BonoVox,

Have you tried using smooth grips before? So long as you have checkering or some kind of frontstrap treatment, and preferably checkering etc. on the mainspring housing as well, you've got enough traction to not need checkered grips. At least, this has been my experience.

Serrations with a slick finish on the gun don't offer enough grip to go with smooth grips, IMO, but checkering of any kind certainly does, as does scalloping/ChainLink etc.

Anytime, it's the least I can do.

I will let you know when they come in, should have them by end of next week or so.

It's based on this graphic from the best TV show (Firefly) ever cancelled. Serenity was the name of the ship.

If Serenity was channeling Malcolm Reynold's mother, I might agree with you. Or if all the characters on MMTC had cool guns.

I agree 100%! I watch that show every time it's on TV. Same thing with Serenity. Must have seen it 100x's.
