Default Non toxic ammo

Hokay, I spoke to the local rangemaster about what they will allow me to "bring" to the range to shoot with. It's an indoor range btw and they charge about $12/box of 50 for commercially reloaded ammo (ouch) which is so dirty I MUST clean after every session. They charge more for new mfg'd.

He said that if I purchase ammo and bring it to the range it needs to be:

In a new unopened box labeled by the mfg;
Have non toxic primers;
Be labeled as non toxic on the box (such as saying "winclean");
Bullets must be fully enclosed or lead free;
NO (Absolutely NOT!) hollow points because they are not fully encapsulated in the expansion hollow.

So, WHERE THE HECK can I get such ammo without paying more than the range charges per box? $12/box of 50 reloaded is outrageous for 9mm. "Winclean" is even worse even from Cheaper than Dirt.

Would like to buy a case.....

The next closest range(s) are:

One in Agoura (over an hour away by freeway and indoor)

One in Piru (outdoor but over an hour away on highway 126 and secondary roads. This range used a lot for CASS events on weekends.)

One in Rose Valley (outdoor but is a private gun club and is almost 2 hours one way due to twisting mountain road and dirt road access. Public/non member access OK on first weekend of every month.)

One in Santa Barbara (never been there and know almost noting about it except it's an hour away by freeway.)

One in Los Padres Natl Forest / Cherry Canyon (further away than Rose Valley gun club. "Unofficial" shooting area in natl forest which attracts all sorts of ninja types with no safety, training, or thought processes. Access is via rutted dirt road and lots of trash, glass, etc on site.)

One in Bakersfield patroned by my spouse (indoor but really nice folks and 2 hours one way over Grapevine)

OR

The local indoor range which is about 1/2 hour away on city streets. There USED TO BE a public range about 10 mins away but the county closed it because of resident complaints of noise. Now that range is for LEO use only and the noise complaints still happen because the noise is (and was) during the week when LEO were using the range and on the weekends when the public used it.

Not much choice is there. Natchezss has winclean and Midway has that and both CCI cleanfire and Magtech clean range. Best price seems to be Natchezss but I've never ordered ammo online. Any suggestions?

I have ordered from all the sites I mentioned. They are all good to deal with.

Only suggestion is to look at the shipping. Some times the best price is not after shipping is added in. So check the net pricing on each site before you pull the trigger.

Just so you know ammoman.com price includes shipping. Not sure if they had clean ammo though.

I have ordered from Natchez before. Normally order by the case. Very good service. Never had a problem with them. The only problem was UPS due to damaged/missing during shipment. Natchez took care of problem promptly with no questions asked.

What is the name of this "non-toxic" range? Sounds too problematic for many. Factory ammo is getting expensive, so I reserve that for my CCW use only.
I reload with totally covered copper plated bullets for practice since it costs a lot less, but still. What about the chemicals in the gunpowder as it burns?

Non-toxic to the shooter, not the shootee...

I have used ICC before. It is expensive but less so if you order mulitple cases... and at the price of Diesel/gasoline....well.....

By the way.. If you are coming to Bakersfield, just drive 20 more minutes to 5 Dogs and get the outdoor experience... do it on a good weather day though!... bring rifles/pistols/Mr. Shotgun etc... shoot as much and as fast as you want... shoot dirty lead or Mr. Clean ammo... etc... Membership is like... 20.00 per year and like 9.00 bucks a day range fee...

Sounds like the range is jamming its customers for not buying ammo from them. Why the hell would they require customers to bring totally "clean" ammo when they themselves sell dirty commercially reloaded ammo?

I don't like shooting ranges that jam customers for every red cent they can on each and every visit. I prefer loyalty through repeat business, but that's me.

As far as buying ammo from Natchez, I've purchased Lapua brass from them in the past. Very easy to deal with and prompt shipping gets a two thumbs up from me. Buy with confidence I would say.......

Finding another range will be easier than finding "clean" ammo. Any range that doesn't welcome my reloads can do without my business. I've worked up several loads that replicate the factory loadings (at a fraction of the cost) I use in my ccw guns, and if I can't use those, then what's the point?

When there isn't a range close... well sounds like you kinda have to do business with them... stinks...
I spoke with Melissa yesterday at Prescision in prep to get ammo for Thunder Ranch classes next month....
9mm ammo is about 321.00 a case plus 30.00 shipping...
FYI
