Default Bullets performance from the morgue.

Ir's a intersting read. Nothing new for those who track real life shootings.

I really enjoyed this comment in one of his replies, "The .357 is gloriously effective." ...and that Ladies & Gentleman is the reason why my Taurus 605, or as I call it The Noisey Cricket, is with me every single day.

Isn't she cute...

I agree with most of it but this guy is not a medical examiner. He works in the Morgue as the forensic anthropologist. Does not get his hands on fresh "bodies".

Just curious if that is out of the ordinary for a mega city/county? Again this is not gunshot related. Just bodies in general. He also states that he travels a lot to other jurisdictions.

He did state later he works 6 days a week.

TMI - 28 pages?
Good info but I think the perpetual nature of the thread is a lost cause.
He made some good points in the first 2-3 pages. I bailed after page 8.

Probably not too far out of the ordinary. LA County had just over 400 murders last year. That's about 1.1 a day. But when you include all of the other deaths in there, I'm sure the LA County Coroner's (LACC) office handles a lot more than what that guy sees. The last annual report from LACC was in 2004 (2004 Annual Report. They handled about 7,200 bodies that year, which is almost 20 per day.

And on a side note, if you are ever near the LA County Coroner's office, stop by and visit their gift shop. They have lots of neat stuff.

Very informative reading and kept me reading for quite sometime. It made me a believer in 45acp for ccw carry.

Thanks for passing this one along CCWI. I knew when I sent it to you it was not new news, but thought you might value the information that came from someone who sees the effects of firearms effects on the body on a daily basis.

Yes a long read, but it keeps returning to the point. 357. 40 and 45 provide the best results.

When I read it a year ago it varified the reasons I carry a 45 cal.
