Default Thank You

First, let me start with a tremendous thank you to each and every one of the members that have posted on this thread. Your posts have been infomitive and very helpful. YOU ROCK!!!!

I have chosen my weapon. The Ruger P95. I've had a chance to shoot 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP, but prefer the 9mm. It's easy to shoot and it's less expensive allowing for more practice. The Ruger felt good in my hand, shot well, stayed on target and stayed in my price range. It also concealed well in a Ross M18 IWB holster CCWSUPPLY.BIZ - Ross M18UTB Western Hideout IWB Holster. I put a deposit on it, after checking the reviews on some forums and on gunweek.com GunWeek.com.

Now I'll have a reliable sidearm in my price range without skimping on quality. I would not have looked at these other brands without your advice because I thought they were outside my price range. I am going to pay it off in September after my baby girl gets married. Thanks everybody.
Oh BTW, I'll be in Orange & Riverside Counties 9-10 thru 9-17 for the wedding. If it's possible, I'de like to PM some of you then to see if we can manage a face to face.

Thanks again,

Gary

Doesn't that feel good! I love it when I get a handgun that just feels right, on both my hands and my pocketbook. And forever now you have the satisfaction of knowing it's your gun and the right decision was made with all your research.

Congrats on the wedding as well.

You best be careful with these folks. They may put together a range day/night or a training class for you to meet and shoot if you have the time.

Good to hear you have decided on a system for carry that is affordable for you.

Congratulations on your resolution gr8man!

See you in September!

Not a bad thing at all. Just a warning that these folks are great hosts, sharing, welcoming and a lot of fun.

They did as much for me when I had a trip scheduled south and it was a blast. A great group to spend time with. I can see though by your big grin that you did catch my sarcasm.

FYI - Now that you have upset the Glock crowd by buying a Ruger , don't expect to be invited to their Tupperware parties ....

Enjoy your new piece and keep buying ammo. It has a way of disappearing on you.

Hey now, everybody's welcome, and there's no cover charge.
'Course there's always the two Glock minimum while you're there...

Probably not for a while as I need to go to Oakhurst to visit the folks and up to Reno soon as well. At least my college student is home for the summer working so that eliminates a trip to Chico to visit.

CCWI put up a date that I could do for a prism trailer class and it filled so that was the training and the group got together for dinner, which was great.

Default Comming in a little late...

Though I have come in a little late my choices, currently, are:

My new "Glock" except that it is a Smith and Wesson and I swear by it. I've been carrying this one for a little over a year and I love it. S&W M&P 40.

Then there is the BUG (Back Up Gun) or the one that I toss in my pocket when I need to, Smith and Wesson 340SC (Boy it is light!)

Then, finally, there is my Commander sized 1911. What collection/Permit would be complete without one of these? Smith and Wesson 1911PD

It was by coincidence that all of these are Smiths, but they all serve the purpose they are intended to and they all shoot wonderfully. Even the 340SC with .357s, though I more commonly carry Nyclads in it.

Geno

(There were supposed to be picture links here, not really sure what happened. The pictures weren't really that good, but I did take them...)
They can be seen here Shooting and Guns - a set on Flickr

OK, OK, OK. I'm sorry if I'm driving you crazy with my indecision. I shot this gun today.

Do any of you carry a full size 1911? How do you conceal it?

Sincerely,

your friendly PITA

Or the O-Frame Club parties either!!!!

I would not carry a full size 1911 unless it was a Kimber Custom CDP II.

I know of at least one member here who does carry a full size stainless 1911.

Thanks BonoVox. But my initial plan was to stay under $500.00. The springfield is already up to $619.00. Kimber is only a dream for me. I shot the same model in 4" with armor cote finish.

Hey all,

I posted this on another thread, and thought I should put it here also, being that this is where I recieved all the great advice. BTW I dumped the Ruger P95 idea.

Thanks again everybody. You Rock!

Post from another thread:

I have vascillated between so many different choices, that I think my many requests for advice has driven many of our fine members to drink. When I get my CCW in September or October my carry gun will be a Kahr CW9.
