Default S&W M&P40 (full size)

Anyone have one of these? Hows it holding up? Do you carry it? Just currious because I'm thinking about picking one of these up, I've shot it at the range and like it alot.

Thanks,

- Joe

Check out the compact. It's smaller for CCW but big enough to still shoot comforably.

The compact doesnt fit my hands good, its too small even with the magazine extension and I really dont want to have to get used to it.

I ended up getting the fullsize M&P40, it fits my hands well and shoots great. The place I bought it from lets you shoot it during the 10 day waiting period so I just got back from putting a few hundred rounds throught it (bought a bunch at my local Spral-Mart - no limit on ammo in Fresno, but thats another thread)....I like it alot!

Congrats on your M&P40. I wanted one but desided to hold out for the 45.

I just got back from shooting my new M&P 40C. Funny thing is I seem to shoot better...or at least as good without the mag grip extension. Maybe it is because I am used to my Glock 26. But actually I think the larger the hands the better.

My pinky wraps around the bottom of the mag perfectly and is very comfortable. I loved it!! I bet you will love the 40 full size too! Congrats and nice choice!!

BTW I thought the recoil felt less than the 9mm Glock 26. I shot them back to back all day for comparison. I was shocked. Tomorrow another 300 rounds through it.

Funny...I was thinking that the M&P40 had less recoil than the M&P9. The 40 definitely had more oomph into the palm, but it has less up-swing (lack of a better word - its late) than the 9mm.

I have not shot either the 9 or 40 full size M&Ps. Though I got to shoot the 45. Love it too. From what you said it makes me want to shoot both the 40 and 9 full size M&Ps.

Only thing I can think of is the grip angle on the M&P verse the Glock when comparing the G26 to the M&P40C.

BTW I shot the Glock 27 "40S&W" before I bought my 26. I thought it had WAY more recoil and snap to it. That is why I went with the Glock 26 to begin with.
