If you were shooting your Glock 22 you legally could have had large capacity magazines. Could they take your gun and give you a ticket sure but I think you would get it back.
It's prior iteration (HS2000) was pre-ban with standard capacity magazines and if you had those pre-ban, you could conceivably use them.

Anyway, back to the OP's question, I'm fine with 7+1.

The only HS model I was aware of was in 9mm.

Since 99% of the people here say they don't need 10+ rounds then it seems like a good argument that the law is a good one.

I carry a 5 shot j-frame for my day to day carry so if I wanted 10+ I'd have to carry 3

I've read stories where a bunch of cops surround a bad guy and 80 rounds were fired with 7 hitting the suspect. I know these are opportunities for cop bashing, but the reality is that when the SHTF it's a little tougher than hitting that piece of paper at the range. Besides, who knows how many thugs you may need to defend against in a bad situation? If you find yourself in a situation where 4 bad guys are a threat, it would be nice to have 15 rounds. Besides, mag holsters are a pain in the arse.

You get used to the mag holsters after a while. So carrying spare ammo is no biggie. I always have a spare for my 45 on me. I got a mag holder that clips on my belt. It LOOKS like it contains a small cell phone. No one seems to have noticed or even asked me what's in it. That's all that matters to me...

Yeah, but I can get off at least 3 rounds while you're changing magazines.
