The scotus ruling validates the control of weapons by governments. It just said that outright banning of ownership can't be one of those controls. Standard cap in California? Don't hold your breath.

I like the idea of the government backing out of the mag size business, it is totally a pointless regulation anyway--another law that only law abiding people follow, thus making it worthless to prevent crimes.

I personally carry a full size 1911, 8+1 round mags, I like it a lot, not gonna change. I do recognize that some people long to carry a 15 round double stack mag for their plastic guns though, and I think they ought to be able to do so. Really seems silly to have to buy disabled mags just to suit CA laws.

Of even more importance, is the ability to own full capacity mags for rifles--30 rounders for AR-15's, etc. Which brings us to the question of if and when the AW ban will ever fall in CA--I hope this is a good omen of the normalization of guns in society, as a means of defense and safety, from any and all threats, as the founding fathers wanted. Not trying to go OT on this thread, but it needed to be said.

Then make sure that your wife also wears Nikes, and knows how to use them.

I can't see the 10-round limit being overturned. The SCOTUS decision allows for regulation. Since we can still shoot a 10-round mag we are not being denied the right to bear arms. It sucks but that's how I see it.

For me, when that day finally comes, I will carry my G22 10+1 and a couple of spare magazines (in case of zombees).

I won't change either. My max capacity is 10 rounds in my carry 40 anyways. I'm not a big fan of blowing off 30 rds in public anyways so 7 rds of .45 makes me a happy camper

have to agree, I dont see the 10 round limit coming down, but seeing as a have several standard capacity mags and they have been seen by countless LEO's and I have never even been questioned, I dont worry about it too much. As a LEO I know personally says, unless you are committing a crime with your gun most of them dont enforce the mag law cause it is to vague, and all the person has to say is they bought the mags before a certain date and they are legal.

A CA resident was shooting his brand new XD-45 at a local range where the local police department as shoots. The cops noticed standard cap mags. He wrote the ticket and took the guns and mags.

As far as I know the XD 45 wasn't produced before the magazine restrictions were in place. If he or she were using large capacity magazines he/she was breaking the law. IMHO. Yes there can be many what ifs to this story but I'm just going with the basics.

If you were shooting your Glock 22 you legally could have had large capacity magazines. Could they take your gun and give you a ticket sure but I think you would get it back.

I'd probably start carrying my G19 or G23 with the mags I already legally own. Right now, I have been convinced that it might be problematic in a civil trial after a defensive shooting should it (God forbid) ever happen.

But I'm mainly a custom 1911 guy, so aside from one of the Glocks, no, I wouldn't change much. I pocket carry my little Kahr PM9 most of the time when it's hot outside, and my custom Colt Defender the rest of the time. Aside from the pocket nine, I prefer to keep my carry guns of one platform... I think switching up between Glocks and 1911's is a bad idea unless you change 100% and train often.

Currently have a Kimber and 2 Glocks listed on my CCW... so I prolly won't change what I carry...

Should standard cap mags for the Glocks become legal, I will carry the highest round count I can legally own, keep concealed and/or comfortably carry.
