Glock 30 Problems

Just Got a new Glock 30 and for the most part love it. Its not a kimber..... but it shoots well. For some reason I can only put 9 rounds in the magazine. Anymore and it has trouble locking into the glock when I insert it. I try to slam it on up there and it falls out. I once succeeded but then I tried pulling the slide and it was almost impossible, it really munched the top cartridge too. But with 9 rounds works perfect. Maybe the spring in the magazine is really stiff still so I should store them loaded for a while? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Even if you can't get the 10th round in, 9 rounds of .45 is respected by everyone unless you wear a red cape and have an "S" on your chest.

I also have a G30, it's a great handgun. First, even though it may sound silly; make sure you have the 10 round mags. I understand that there are also 9 rounders for the G30. I also had the 10th round struggle with my mags. I followed some advice and loaded each mag to capacity and left them loaded for a week. Then I unloaded them for one day and repeated the sequence for another week. Now the mags will easily take the 10th round and will lock into place with moderate effort. Racking the slide while a loaded mag is in place still takes a little more effort, but everything functions as it should. Good luck, and good choice going with the compact .45 ACP.

crap, getting 10 rounds of 9mm in my G26 mags is a pain in the thumb! I'd imagine the .45 has gotta be worse.

I had the same issue with a few of my G19 mags. I left them loaded with 10 for a few weeks and they work fine now....but it still is a pain to load that 10th round

Buy an UPLULA... works very very very well... and is fast... ok it's for sissies... got that.. have the t-shirt.... use it anyway... works very well... did I say it is fast? it is fast... which means more rounds down range faster... and no hand cramps from loading too many magazines with too many rounds too fast...

The 10 round mags are tight. Put 9 rounds in and leave it for a week. Come back and cram # 10 in and leave it for another week or two. The problem will go away.
Common with the G30 10 round mags.

There are 9 round and 10 round magazines.. I do not why but that is what they have. I don't have a G-30 yet.

The 9 rounders are flush base the ten rounders have a slight little finger groove.

Thanks for the help I'll keep them loaded and break them in a little. For the mean time I load the Glock with 9 rounds and my backup mag has 10. Seems to work find as long as I load the full mag while the slide is locked back. (If I need more than nine rounds of 45......I'm in trouble)

That is exactly what I had to do with mine. It fixed the problem
