Talking Took Delivery Today of...

...My brand spanking new Kimber Compact CDP II! I have not got a chance to take it to the range yet. I should be going to the range this Thursday. I am so excited! I am planning to break it in with 400-500 rounds of Winchester 230 gr. The slide seems pretty tight. Other than that, I will not get a chance to give it a review until I shoot it! Until then, may the Kimbers be with you.

BTW, I have finally lived up to my CalCCW username.

Congratulations. Don't even think about taking it apart until you have run at least 300+ rounds through it. Get some Wilson mags.

Thanks for the tips. Is this why the slide is sooooo tight and that it is almost virtually impossible to take apart?

you can take it apart any time you want to. the hood to barrel fit is the issue during break in. slide to frame is a non-issue.

congrats on the new Kimber.

Actually, I took mine apart and cleaned it before I put any rounds through it. It just wasn't that difficult.

Did you take it apart with the Kimber special tool?

Well, shoot another 200 rounds while you look for it!

Well based on what you've done already, you should sell your Ultra CDP for half what you paid for it and wait six months before you buy another one, just to teach yourself to be more careful with your tools.
