If you ask me their pistols are way over priced as it is. Especially with all the problems they have with quality control and now they are going to raise the prices....must be to recover some of that warranty work money!

This thread is simply a heads up to those interested in buying a Kimber firearm BEFORE the price rises June 1, 2008.

Please keep the bashing off this forum.

Not sure where you got your info from. Feature for feature they are a good deal. As fas a quality control, I've seen over 1,000 in all my classes. 5 had problems. They were fixed ASAP. Kimber even shipped a call tag out.

And I am one of those people that had a problem. TWICE.

Kimber's customer service is FANTASTIC! Beyond fast turn around Both times!

Things happen, its their customer service along with their product that will keep me a customer!

I can second that.

When I broke the ejector on my Ultra Carry, Kimber not only replaced the ejector at no cost, installed Meprolight Night Sights, and waived the installation charges for the night sights. They also returned the weapon to me in exactly 7 days from when I shipped it to them.

Thanks,

After reading this thread, I feel my timing has been fortunate as I have very recently contacted this guy I know to order a Kimber. I'm glad I didn't wait. :-)

Great solution SB, I agree that he should have no obstacles in the way for acquisition of new Kimbers.

Thanks Mike! Actually, after I spoke with you, it turned out that the new 2008 Gold Combat Stainless II model is not on the CA approved list. I didn't want the 2007 version. Sooo... I'm going with the Super Match II :-)

It was just a statement to give those a heads up who were considering purchasing one as a couple people stated. I wasnt trying to bash anyone. Are negative issues not allowed to be discussed on this forum? I know a lot of the people on this forum like Kimber pistols, and thats fine but shouldnt people be informed of the negatives as well? Sorry if I ruffled your feathers I did not intend to do so.

CCWI, any idea of the percentage of increase? I have one in mind, but not sure if I can get to an order before 6/1/08.

I have had a few problems with the Kimber I own as well as a couple of friends as well. Then, research just made me aware that they were more common then I thought. I am not trying to start a war on this subject, so I am going to make no further comments on it. I dont want to upset anyone or cause problems here and sorry if I offended anyone.

Probably not a big deal, so don't sweat it, but blanket statements usually does get one in trouble.

BTW, discussing your Kimber problems helps others know what to do if they encounter similar problem areas. One of the first things we all discovered (after being advised by CCWI to do this) is to get quality aftermarket mags. Once I made that change and watched my thumb to avoid hitting the slide lock when firing, my Warrior has performed flawlessly. Ultra CDP II as well.

Effective June 1, 2008, Kimber will increase our pistol line-up an average of 2.4%.
From CCWI's post.
