I know the hand size of the Female Shark (RD, that's a Clue). Her hand was placed next to mine, just a tad smaller.

I agree that what fits her hand is best. A single stack mag would be best. Yes I like big holes (45 ACP).

FM's/SM's - See me and I will send her out earlier to try all your tools. Female Instructor taught her how to shoot, you know . . . the Mars Venus stuff.

BOYS - Be nice to her, if you get served with a surrender/sell TRO, she can save your rear end.

Understood!

We are here to help! As with any new member that is showing an interest and needs some help in finding what THEY like best in a CCW. Mars vrs Venus no worries and no lessons from us. After all if she has been training with FI all we could do is mess up her progression! We only offer unloaded and safe CCW possibilities for our newest member to test drive.

I will bring the duct taped crate out for the occasion. Heck I even hear there might be a sighting of the extremely rare Kimber Ultra SIS in the house that night!

OC Newbie: I may be a bit late to the party and I'm a bit far North... but Welcome! If your hands are about the same size as CCWI's, you shouldn't find it too difficult to find a pistol that fits you. Like others have said, fit is what matters. Your pistol should feel comfortable in your hand. In my case, a few years ago I shot a S&W 3906. It's a single stack 9mm. It felt small and the trigger guard kept rubbing a knuckle of my middle finger. It was clearly too small, though I could shoot it decently. Personally, I prefer a Glock 23 or an "O Frame". Both fit me OK and I can shoot them decently well. I can't recommend highly enough that you should get out and shoot a bunch of different pistols. Do that before you buy. Do not be frightened about the calibers. Most of the typical self-defense calibers won't beat you up too badly unless the pistol itself is too light.

Once again, WELCOME!!!!!

My G30 is great but I have large enough hands. Most females I know don't. The G30 SF might work for you if you really need 11 rounds at your disposal.

I suggest you go to a range that rents a variety and see which one fits your hands the best and that you are most confident in shooting.

Welcome to the club.
+1. Guns can be as individual as cars. Test drive before you buy!

My latest baby, I actually liked it at first and then after the 10 day wait didn't like it. Then I took it to the range, oh my this gun is so sweet and everyone at the range including the employees wanted to have it. A good gun, not to heavy and a good caliber.

Thanks again everyone for being so helpful and friendly. I feel like I've made a whole new set of friends today! I have to admit to being a bit hesitant to post at first because I am so green as to the subject matter and I didn't want everyone to read my posts and think "Oh great, an annoying ignoramous has joined our group."
No worries on that - they all manage to put up with me!

These guys are all great & looks like you've gotten some good advice here already.

When I was first gun shopping I tried everything - no surprise, I was most comfortable with the 2 guns I shot the most, ChrisG's HK USP45C and AMS Mike's Kimber Ultra CDP II - I ended up following CCWI's advice to not get the double stack mag (HK) because I'm 5'3" & don't have huge hands. I wound up with the Kimber Ultra Carry II and have loved it. The Ultra's are great for concealing too - ChrisG put mine on to compare it with the HK & there was a big difference.

Good luck with whatever you choose - the best part is you will never run out of people around here who are willing to let you try their toys!
