Model 47OX are 7 round magazines designed to fit the Ultra Frame Size without over insertion.

Model 47D are 8 round magazines designed to fit a full size frame like the Pro or Custom. They can be used in an Ultra, however, there is the possibility of overinsertion if the slide is locked back.

Model 47DOX is a 47D with a special baseplate which allows it to be used in an Ultra without over insertion.

Many people, myself included, have 47OX magazines for normal carry in the weapon and 47DOX magazines as spares.

Thanks,

I'm fond of the 47OXC. Stainless steel with a low profile steel base pad.

Perfect for the guy who falls in the creek once in awhile.

I use the OXC in my Colt Defender, which has the same size frame as your Kimber I believe. They're great mags.
