Default Newbie (stupit) question-CCW of Pre-80 LW Commander?

O.K. - pardon my iggerance - I tried the search function 'til I'm blue in the face, and couldn't find the answer. I just purchased a Pre-80 Series CLW Commander via PPT from another CA resident/ CCW Forum Bro. Assuming I get my CCW here in Orange County (Don't give up on me YET, Greg - I'm workin' on it!), will I be allowed to have this gun on my "list o' three"? Thanks in advance for not pistol-whipping me!

As long as trigger pull is measured at 4# or more you should be good to go.

As a squad leader in the Army I always told my guys that the only stupid question was the unasked question.

In addition to the trigger pull test, they function test all the pistol's safety features. If the pistol is in serviceable condition, it won't matter if it's a pre-series 80 or not.

Ranger, you've never heard one my questions, have you?

As to the pre 80's weapon... Gun must be in good working order, CLEAN, and trigger pull 4#'s or more. Year made doesn't come into play. (Oh, while it's not a rule, they do snicker at you if you bring in a "mouse" caliber...)

Pre-series 80's did not have the firing pin safety IIRC.

I know that OC looks closely at mods and trigger pull, but I have a hard time believing that they would kick out a great gun...

Thumbs up

Hey guys, thanks for all the great responses! For some weird reason, I just had this odd feeling that I wouldn't be able to get this on my personal list, even that I knew that I COULD buy it via PPT from a CA owner...

Regarding its "fitness for duty", it seems to be running good now - but I'll have Alan Tanaka give it the once over before my visit to the armory...
