I've just been looking into what it takes to really get a gun onto the list. It's not that expensive. Under $2k for the testing, plus 3 guns and 2000 rounds of factory ammo, and $200 per year to keep the gun on the list.

You can fire this without the mag. Not sure if that is why Ruger isn't trying to get it on the DOJ list or not. It is a solid little gun that shoots nice though.

...then you multiply that by the number of upc's a company has, Springfield has around 700 the last time I checked, it would have cost

2000.00 fee

$1500.00 3 x 500.00 for guns

$250.00 ammo

$3750.00 X 700 different UPC's approx. for Springfield

That adds up to about $2,625,000 to offer their line of handguns to California. Then it would cost them 140,000 a year to maintain old product not to mention anything new. If you have ever filled out a DROS on the states system it is a nightmare to figure out which upc they refer to because they list them by incomplete descriptions instead of the upc code. Different grips, sights, finish... all different upc's so each one has to be tested.

And the last I heard, the state hadn't approved *any* loaded chamber indicators, claiming that all of the ones on the market were 'inadequate.'

If that's true, this effectively amounts to a ban on new handguns in california, unless they're a minor variation on an already approved gun.

I shot this little pistol on Saturday. My friend told me to "grip it good" when I went to the firing point during my turn. Naturally being the humble yet ruggedly handsome Kimber Ultra Carry owner that I am, I was thinking . . . yeah right, its a .380 . . . . man let me tell you, when your buddy gives you advice about a tiny pistol, you better listen. My first shot was intended to be CoM and it became a gut shot. Because of the size of that little thing, I guess, rotated in my hand. I almost lost my grip on the follow up shot but tightened up on the succeeding shots emptying the mag with a group and that one unsocial gut shot hole. Now I'm afraid of that little piece of plastic. Too much pistol for this O-Frame shooter. Guess I am recoil sensative after all.

Those light little guns can be a handful especially with only a 3 finger grip. The 380 AMT I have is a rough little shooter, but the Colt Mustang PocketLite is much more manageable.

They are exempt from 1 gun a month, the 10 day waiting period and non DOJ approved guns.

I asked a LEO that I know and that's what I found out. Makes me mad that we as law abiding citizens have so many restrictions and the bad guy can get whatever they please.

California has too many *#$@ laws.

To be exempt from the 10-24 hour period wait, you need a letter from your department. Non-rostered guns and 1 every 30 days happens with just their LE ID.

Non rostered guns not safe enough for us, should be not safe enough for LEO.
What about LE agency liability when situation goes wrong with non rostered gun.

Don't waste your money the LCP is exactly the same in fire power and looks as the kel tec 3at. The only different is the finish and look sharper.
Not impressed, I own both.
