Default Walmart Price Increase

Just got back from Walmart and was shocked at the recent ammo price increase. 9mm WWB value pack went from $15.42 to $18.42. The .40 cal value pack is now $26.88 I believe and the .45's are $29.88. I hate walmart anyways. The only reason I step foot in that place is for ammo. Now I don't have any reason to ever go back there again even if it is still slightly cheaper. Saving .20 cents a box isn't worth the damage that place does to your soul

They'd been absorbing the price increases while they depleted inventory, apparently, and TANSTAAFL.

45 when up one buck per 100. That is below my cost by 2.00.

To confirm the reports of raised prices I went to WallyWorld today and bought ammo: $28.98 for a box of 100 rounds @ the Westminster location. Both on the tag and the receipt.

The guy behind the counter said the prices went up yesterday. He also said something about how they are going to eventually stop selling ammo. Not sure if he knows what he is talking about. I would rather see small retailers getting the business anyway. After reading CCW1's post it looks like one more price increase and he is right there with them...

My understanding is that prices aren't going up on existing stock, only when new stock comes in.

Up here it went up as well, I was told it will probably be going up again soon.

Geez, that one is a shocker to me. Last time I bought .223 at the start of 2007 it was constant at $6.47

This stuff is seriously making me love my Dillons.

Default state wide

Looks like they are a complete corporation.
I realy wonder if it is based on stock or are prices even raised for shelf inventory before the stock rotates. No price tag makes it hard to determine if it is inventory turnover or timed price hiking.
Anyway last saturday it was cheeper by only a buck. Still the cheepest in three counties.
And this is the first time I saw several (3- 45, 1- 40 and 4- 9mm) 500 count packages sitting on the floor waiting to be shelved. Odd that at least 3K rounds were unlocked in large shipping boxes while maybe 1k were behind glass. loosy goosy will end the Wally ammo express just as it did the long-gun sales.
Bundling some other purchases for a total savings of just over 4 bucks (more than gallon of petrol), and it was closer to home than the cross-town markets. Ammo and breakfast food at a savings - I can withstand the odd odor (smells like hog fat).
It's good to be old - who cares.
