I tried a Para LDA before I bought my Kimber. I didn't like the LDA trigger, but other than that, I thought it was nice gun.

The Para LDA I tried was a .45. I'm not sure if they make LDAs in other calibers.

I got the LDA for work because the "man" would not let me carry SA!

after 2500 rounds in 9 months (I know i'm slacking but ammos expensive for a security guard) I have gotten quite used to the LDA. Its not a good as a good SA but I like it better than a lot of the other DOA's out there. just personal preference, in no way meant to bash any other pistols out there, thank god we still have a somewhat good choice here in the PRK!

Oh definitely. Everyone has their preferences.

the LDA was made in 40 and 9mm also but they have dropped some models this year.

Obviously l liked the fact that its the same ammo as my work gun and my full size mags will work in it

didn't plan to double post but I saw more replies while i typed

congrats on your new purchase....Being a security guard, does your boss only allow you carry Para guns?

anything double action is OK, but as far as 1911 type guns I think thats only PARA.

I've also carried a Ruger P90 and S&W model 10, I use the wheel gun on sites were they don't allow semi's, we have a few

I'm still hoping Ruger will get the new SR9 CA approved, my dealer thinks they will and it would nicely round out my carry pieces and allow me to dump the Hi Point which as anyone who has seen one will confirm is the ugliest auto on the market!

got to pick up the new gun, will be shooting this weekend, I was skeptical as to how much easier it would be to conceal since its only 1.5" shorter and 3/4 in less in hight than my full size para, but it makes a real difference and 6 Oz less feels like more too.

note to board I do not now or ever carry concealed where it is against the law.

took my new carry 12 out to the desert on friday for the first part of break in.
we fired 250 rounds of UMC 230 grain ball ammo and 20 rounds of winchester ranger T hollow points. at round 16 the slide hesitated to lock but slipped closed on its own before any action could be taken. at round 32 the slide failed to close and finished its cycle after simply pulling back the slide 1/4 of an inch and releasing. there were no other malfunctions at all. we didn't shoot at paper but it hit bottles and cans with ease out to 20 or so yards. I will go to the indoor ranger later this week to test accuracy on paper.

Prophet, what shop did you go to for purchase? The one in Lancaster on Siera has a range downstairs and is friendly. Reloads not to bad $$.
Nice pistol btw.

Nice gun!

I'm confused why some O-frame makers produce models with bobbed hammers. If you carry it locked and cocked it's still visible, so what's the point...just "less" to snag, or what?

Congrats!

I agree. The Kimber RCP always struck me as strange that way. But the Para has the LDA trigger, so it makes sense.
