Default Got My P6/P225

I picked up the P6 yesterday. As advertised, some holster wear, but internally looks very nice. I threw my Pachmayr Grips on, but haven't had a chance to give it a good cleaning yet. I will shoot it later today and see how she feeds.

Photos for those who are interested:

Some rust on the grip screw. It looks like there's rust on the slide near the takedown lever, but it's not - just caught the light in the room funny.

Here you can see WHY these pistols have holster wear....

However, I'm virtually certain that it is not possible between 9mm and its larger-casing-diameter cousins.

The outer dimension of the .357Sig, and I'm certain the .40 too - the firearm itself - is very slightly fatter than the 9. Not enough to affect its concealed carry, but enough so you're not going to be jamming a fatter magazine or a larger-diameter barrel into the 9. This would be to accommodate the bigger cartridges. Just make sure you know what you're getting when you order.

Re: grip sizes -- I have big hands, too. I use a Pachmyar slip-on sleeve, and it helps a lot.
That's weird. Most other guns, the only difference between a 9mm and .40S&W is the barrel and magazine since the overall diameter difference of the two rounds is about 1mm.

Should be noted you can go "down" the spectrum with a Sig though. If you have a .40/.357 you can get a 9mm barrel for it. Bar-Sto makes some.

She looks good. After seeing your post I went to the Turner's in Fountain Valley to play with one at the counter. The guy behind the counter, who was a bit snotty and rude, asked if I was going to buy it.

I told him $450 was too much. He said that's the cheapest they come. I told him he was wrong and that I was having one shipped for $250.

He then tried to get me on the transfer quoting chapter and verse about FFL receivership, saying Turner's did that. $125 + $25 DROS = $150.

I told him I was having it shipped to J and J where we only charge $65, including DROS.

I left the store satisfied with my purchase and knocking the Turner's guy down a peg or two.

This is usually how I feel after I leave Turner's:

Good to hear you put "Mr. I know everything about guns" in his place. It's a shame that they don't treat customers better over there.

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing the place is good for is to look at guns in stock, and then feel better that you found it somewhere else for
$100's less.

Post some pics of your P6 when it arrives.

I know the feeling about Turners. I don't know what it is, but a lot of guys working there have that attitude. At to a common person, I'm sure they sound impressive. But for someone who ALSO works at a gunstore and has been shooting since he was about 7, he just sounded like an idiot.

Then again, I'm sure I've come off acting like an ass once or twice to customers before. So I try not to judge. It's just such a common occurance at Turners I have to wonder if they put something in the water over there.

Pics will be forthcoming.

Default Range Report - P6

I took the P6 out today as promised, and it functioned flawlessly.

Accuracy was great, and with 150 rounds fired of various types of range ammo there were no malfunctions whatsoever.

For the $259, it was money WELL spent!

That looked like it was in excellent condition, AND a broken in holster? Nice deal!

Thanks. The holster is kinda funny though. It's got a strange double snap on the outside to retain the gun. I can't imagine it's useful for quickly drawing the weapon, unless there's some special way to open it I can't figure out.

For me the P229 just fits me better than the P239. I like Sigs, over 2K rds without one FTF, FTE. It just keeps going, and going, and going.

I have never talked to a Turner's employee who did not come accross as an I-know-it-all idiot. Bad thing is they don't even know their stuff.

I have a P6 on order with AIM. They will ship to my local FFL (FFl on file). I can't wait. he received two for a father and son purchase and they both look great. i hope the one they will send for me will be as clean. This will be the wife's so I can get my 229 back.

Just did the paperwork on two P6's last week... they both were in almost new condition... the holster is a piece of work... a real Nancy Pelosi...if ya know what I mean... can't get the gun out if ya need it and it won't come out on accident either... so now your gun is totally useless... cause it is in the holster... a Nancy Pelosi like I said...

Having said that... the holster would be "OK" for like a... ummm... well a ... maybe a.... storage place? naw...

OK I'm takin' mine to the leather shop (my kitchen table) and have the underside snap cut off and then the swivel simply snaps off an then the gun would be a pretty good ... like hiking holster or something where you want the gun to be secure and protected... taking off the underside snap would eventually allow the gun to be removed from the holster...

Anybody else got a clue on how to get the gun from the stupid holster?

How about buying extra magazines for the P6.. I only got two mags per gun... that ain't enough for sure!

Are these P225's DA/SA, DAO or DAK?

Picked up my two P6's today... shot about 50 rounds through one of them... very, very cool ... terrible double action trigger... but after that, very cool... Think I'll take it out with some cor-bon and shoot some .... stuff on Wed...
Still only two magazines per gun... this is not an acceptable situation..!
