Default cut hammer

seems to me that little cut would make a great spot to take that hammer to a qualified gunsmith, have him cut the other end off and dehorn it right there....

.....

I got a good laugh out of the French joke...
However, I laugh at just about every French joke!!

Default By the way...

...I have been communicating with AIM. They will have a new shipment of these coming in within 2 days.

*************

BTW PHM, my apologies for what's ended up as a full-on hijacking of your thread. It was not my intention to do so!
To let you know, that P239 is one smooth shooter. I was really considering buying one, and then I picked up the P225 sitting next to it and noted how close they were in size and weight - also, the price difference was about $300 at Turners. I thought I'd remembered seeing one in a distributor's flyer (I have a C&R) and saw the price I've posted before.

I also own a P226 and it is by far my fave gun to shoot, it's just awful big. I've also shot a P225 (many years ago) and found no real difference to how it shoots (and the P239 feels as good as my 226).

As for the condition of these police turn-in P225's, so far all of the feedback I've read about online has been nothing but positive. If anyone finds anything to the contrary, please let us know!

************

Here's some gun porn as well. This guy had his P225 police turn-in np3 refinished and Nill grips swapped. Total extra cost was a bit over $400, but she's SWEET. He did a bunch of other stuff too, including swapping out the hammer...

The following pistol appears to be on the CA approved handgun list. I’m interested in buying one, will you ship to a CA FFL?

It IS on the approved list too!!

I'm checking with them right now to see if they'd be interested in cutting the price for a group buy if anyone is interested....I'll keep you posted.

As an aside, my prior post on that refinished 225 was in error. It was NOT a turn-in. However, it's still a pretty picture, and shows what the potential is for one of these old babies.

Default Group Buy - naaahhhh

They've advised me that they cannot do a group buy with the current shipment. There will be another shipment in March where they'd be willing to chop $10 off of the price.

For me, $10 ain't worth the wait. If there are others interested, I'll let someone else drive that boat..

I want one.
I also have a P-226, in 9mm. I won't sell it because of sentimental reasons.
It is indeed an amazing gun. It is also way too big for carry.
I would be interested in getting a P-225. I can do it by late march though.
Strictly technical, that's all.
Just for the heck of it...Is there anyone else?

I use my Sig 239 for daily carry here in TX...also, actually this past week I've been daily carrying my Sig 229!
Love them both....relaible as all get out....9mm works for me and Galco Fletchs' for OWB holster....and Tucker Answer for IWB.

Good luck and enjoy!!

Default AIM P225/P6's to ship!

For anyone who may have bought one....per AIM:

"02/18/08 All current Pre-Orders for the Sig-P225/P6 pistols will begin shipping by Friday 2/22/08"

During my discussion with them last week, they may start shipping sooner....

BTW - not looking at stats, but knowing enough about 239's to say this with confidence -- I forget who mentioned making caliber changes with a simple barrel swap. This is entirely possible , or rather, it is entirely possible that this is possible, between the .40 and .357Sig. I have a hard time imagining that it wouldn't require a magazine swap as well. However, I'm virtually certain that it is not possible between 9mm and its larger-casing-diameter cousins.

The outer dimension of the .357Sig, and I'm certain the .40 too - the firearm itself - is very slightly fatter than the 9. Not enough to affect its concealed carry, but enough so you're not going to be jamming a fatter magazine or a larger-diameter barrel into the 9. This would be to accommodate the bigger cartridges. Just make sure you know what you're getting when you order.

Re: grip sizes -- I have big hands, too. I use a Pachmyar slip-on sleeve, and it helps a lot.
