Your right We would have made it. We where in another part of the state.

I read his question wrong, confirm does not equal confined. Everything that is confirmed right now is in S. Cal.

Funny how this thread turned from seeking information about two pistols into a range day. But, I guess that's my fault. I'd be up for a range day/social gathering at 5 Dogs. Been there once before. El Gato, can you come up with something in late April, or early May, once the Tule fog and damp weather begins to lift a little? That should give everyone a chance to get their itenaries in order.

Norseman, You will need your new Kimber CDP pistol for Range Day

Either a Compact 4" or an ultra 3".

He's looking for a Compact.

But yes a Custom 5" is a great add to your new purchase of a Compact.

5Dogs is just down the road from Famoso and they burn strange mixes of petroleum distalates there... very arcane...loads of burnt rubber.... then just drive down the road for another slice of burned gunpowder heaven...

I'll see what we and 5 Dogs have open and then extend the invitation...am off on workman's comp for a couple of days so should have time.... we are going to be doing some defensive handgun/shotgun classes during april/may along with the regular ccw stuff but I can ask shewhomustbeobeyed... if I am allowed ammo to go meet new friends and shoot stuff......

She.... ...... will probably say yes anyway it'll just cost me alot of ammo....and she shoots 45

Actually anything north of the Grapevine on the 99 corridor would be doable.
Madera, Fresno, Merced, Modesto, etc.

Oh, I'm not believe me. I'm in Tuolumne County. It just seems that us northerners are a bit in the minority, so I was merely attempting a compromise venue to serve the greater majority, and so that us northerners do not have to cross the grapevine to the "dark side".

Wow, you make it sound so dirty! Don't knock the "dark side", until you've walked among us.

We were talking about kimber vs. springfield..... right?

For me... when I shoot my Springfield I feel like I've driven a ... kia or Daewoo or something... runs good, doesn't break much (once I lost the stupid guide rod)... just not fancy...kinda like Kimchi on wheels... an acceptable acquired taste... but for the price... a taste that can be acquired....

When I used to own a Kimber... when it ran.... (was a 38 super and had problems so forgive the when it ran thing)..... It was like getting into my 07 Chevy Impala police package vehicle... nothing real fancy... will outrun all of the competition except the hemi dodge... will outturn/brake/accelerate the crown vic and rides well.... everything I could ask for and priced right... except....it is front wheel drive.... that's the kimber... everything you could ask for in a gun except it is front wheel drive.... and.... nobody else makes an ittybitty 45 that small except Para and they seem to be widebody most of the time although they have a new lda that cool......

kimber vs. springfield.... kimber gets the vote..

If I can afford it, it looks like Kimber is taking the lead. It's just that when I think 1911, I automatically think Springfield Armory.

The question is, can you afford not to go with a Kimber?
