I am very comfortable with the Glock 23 at the range but since it doesn't have an external safety I don't quite feel comfortable carrying with one in the chamber. I need more time and practice. Thanks
As a purely subjective evaluation... I sincerely dislike the model 23 and it's little brother too.... kicks too hard and are too fat...I carry a model 22 for work and often off duty and used to carry the 23... personally I don't know how anyone could really like that gun... the model 19 on the other hand is a beauty... to each his/her own..

The Kahr 40 is, in my opinion, much more comfortable to shoot... even the little polymer framed ones... and I have less trouble hitting my target each and every time...

As to external safeties: I have been carrying chambered for almost 30 years (rounding up) one time, again almost 30 years ago, I had an accidental/negligent discharge with a broken 1911.. the external safety was on and the gun went off when the grip safety was depressed - your best safety is to keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction..... carry the glock/kahr in a pocket holster and be happy...

The 23 is my primary and I love it. Love the way it shoots, love the grip, love the size and concealability...etc.

I wouldn't carry a 9mm anymore. You can't even shoot through a propane tank with that little bullet. LOL (did you see Myth Busters?)

I have the 380 AMT and it has been a good shooter with no failures. I sent it back in to AMT (Arcadia Machine and Tool) or (All Most Trash) to have a firing pin block installed by the factory when it was offered.

It is rough around the edges and heavy, parts will be an issue if needed in the future, but it has been good to me so far.

I don't think I can carry my glock in a pocket holster, too big. I've ruled out the AMT and considering a snubby. This is becoming harder than I thought.

Does anyone know if the Kel Tec is legal in CA? I checked the DOJ list of approved guns, but couldn't find them.

Chromerider....Ask CCWi about getting a Colt Mustang .380 and doing a CDP conversion.

You will LOVE it! and can be a pocket holstered gun.

Ditto. I am going for the full treatment and I can hardly wait. Explains why Inboost has not posted in awhile!!!

I heard they submitted them to the DOJ but actually failed the safety test and decided not to resubmit them. When the requirements for mag disconnect kicked in, they sort of lost the option. Their super-cheap AR knockoffs seem better made than the little micro pistols. You do sometimes see them in-state for PPT transfers, though they go for double the list price.

I have the Kahr PM9. The early ones had problems, but the latest generation seems solid. Mine's been very good. I sent the barrel back to the factory (at their expense) because I was having a problem where it occasionally wouldn't feed the first round off the mag if it was loaded to capacity +1 in the chamber. They were great to deal with, fixed it up and sent it back out the same day, and I've had no problems since. It's my favorite "teensy backup gun" and I'd take a 9mm Kahr over a 380 mustang any day (no offense to the mustang crowd, but ballistics are ballistics). I can carry that thing darn near anywhere - even places I'd have to cover in vaseline to carry a glock.

Wait, that last bit sounds wrong. Anyway, it's easy to carry.

You must be using the wrong bullets?!?!?!?!?!
Ninja use propane-tank-buster...

no...did not see that episode.... need for myth buster is for more guns stuff...

Most modern propane tanks are pretty flimsy... don't know why I know that.. not that I have any personal experience... that anyone could prove...

You know what's flimsy? JBL's little iPod stereos. Just two shots from a .44 DE and cheap plastic parts go flying everywhere.

You know what's also flimsy? $160 S.T. Dupont X-Tend cigar lighters. They stop working, and then it just takes one 230gr. .45ACP ball round through the center of one to blow out the back of it. I thought the bullet might fix the lighter... I was wrong.

IBM hard drives are also flimsy. I swear, "bulletproof design" just doesn't mean what it used to mean. I thought one 5.56mm round might reformat the hard drive. It didn't... but 29 more and I can safely say that I cleared all the data off the damn thing.
