Your dedication, seriously, is very commendable. Your attitude also reflects in a positive manner. When are you opening your gunshop ?

It's not hard at all. You qualify with it, get it inspected and get a new CCW typed. Fee's are involved.

Default break in

I put about 300-400 round through my XD this morning in the hollowing wind and dust without a hitch. Not one single FTF. After getting used to a sub-compact size, it was easy to sight in and shot really straight and true. I will have to say that shooting a sub is a lot different than a regular frame gun. I have to get used to only holding it with two fingers and a 3 inch barrel. I have to get a couple hundred more round through it so I am confident when I qualify.

You have no worries. If I could qualify with my Kahr PM9, with the air system at the "old" qualifying range blowing my target back and forth 3 to 4 inches, you can do it!!

I am not even that good a shot!

It has been almost a year now and I AM A SUPER ROOKIE COMPARED TO A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD!

Try to listen to some of the suggestions here. Yes we all know some you might be able to afford, but some you may not. But in general, we will at least send you in the direction of something that is at least serviceable and not going to be a safety hazard to you or others.

Then you can work your way towards the Cadillac of CCW. What Cadillac ends up being for you.....could be a 180 from what it means for me. As we always say YMMV. "your mileage may vary"

Good luck my friend!
With over a 1000 post you have bypast the rookie stage.

RodSteal, don't forget my post about "poker faces and pool sharks." Don't let BonoVox talk you into any wagers.

Aahhh, come on!! We are just a bunch of sport shooters and rusty ones at that. If we bet money you would be taking advantage of us. that's why we only bet guns, mostly Kimbers, but that is only because they are so inexpensive!

In your case, I guess you could post an XD against a Kimber if that is all you have...

Isn't that like doubling down, for less?

I work with what you have. I can't work miracles. The last time I tried walking on water, I almost drowned.

That's the problem with living in So. Cal.

In Minnesota walking on water's a snap. This time of year, anyway.

This reminds me of the last Advanced Handgun class CCWI put on. When I called out and squared off against Glock 32 on dueling trees! I loudly proclaimed it was Kimber against Glock! Fight for the ages!!!! CCWI loudly said "I don't think so....but if it is......hand ME that Kimber!!!!"

If it was the battle of all ages and it was Kimber against Glock! CCWI was going to make sure he was the one lining up those sights on that Kimber!!!! Not little old BonoVox!
