Default New Kimber S.I.S available soon

http://www.kimberamerica.com/downloads/SIS.pdf

Also for every S.I.S firearm sold, $15 will be donated to LAPD memorial foundation.

But in California??? I heard no, which is kinda funny being it was made for a California agency to begin with.

From the article:

Quote:
The 4- and 3-inch guns have full-length guide rods.
Not guide rod assemblies, even on the 3"?

Since it is not on the list of safe guns for sale, it is an unsafe gun and cannot be sold in California. However, LEO can purchase and use unsafe guns.

I thank the California legislature for protecting me from myself.

This would have made a nice bedside gun with a light/laser set up on the rail.

I guess the Springfield TRP is still on the top of my to do list in 2008.

very interesting to say the least.

Rediculous if CA didn't approve it when it was designed for the CA Agency.

What that means is the rod is a FULL 3" or 4" to match the gun. It does NOT mean full lenght as in 5".

I hope you sense the sarcasm in my post. The "unsafe" gun list is the legislature's attempt to slowly ban guns. None of the features they require for new guns make it any safer.

I have a problem with it too. The general public MUST buy safe ($$$$) approved guns. LEO's don't have too. That isn't right.

Doing the right thing has never been a duty of the legislature. Their only goal is to get re-elected.

This is going off topic but in your professional experience, have there been any issues brought up by plaintiff's lawyers regarding an agency not using a gun on the approved list?

Some departments only allow approved guns for duty use. Back-up and off-duty, nobody had enforce yet. Yes it has come up in the civil side of the case.

With CCW's, a few S.O. have said approved guns only. That's rare because lots of older guns were in state before 1/1/2000

The Ultra version is a nice looking gun! How's $1,099.95 compare to other 3" Kimbers?:

GunBroker.com guns: Kimber SIS Ultra 45 ACP Pistol 45ACP (item: 87457675 ends: Dec-21-07 05:13:18 PM)

In the ball park for the higher end 3" Kimbers.

But it's a moot point. Unless one is in state, you can't get your hands on it.
