Howdy:
In a couple of months, my Kahr PM 9 will be three years old and has "disgested" just over 14,000 rounds. Except for a weak magazine spring that caused a couple of FTF (failure to feed) malfunctions, my weapon has been 100% reliable. Once replaced, my newly "sprung" magazines/PM 9 functioned flawlessly!! Several members of this forum have had the pleasure of using my Kahr at Evans Shooting World in Orange, CA. There weren't any FTF problems during their shooting sessions. Tough Guy Levi |

Since I started this thread, I've purchased a PM 40. It's now the #1 gun on my permit. 300 rounds, including 100 Winchester T-series, and zero failures. Good groups, manageable recoil once I got used to it.

I'm buying a PM9 from A Guy next week, after handling one at a local shop. They seem like well made guns, with a surprisingly nice trigger pull, and IMO it's one of the very few viable pocket autoloaders out there. I had a G26... not a pocket gun. The PM series truly is.
I plan to carry it when I can't have my Colt on my hip, or in conjunction with the Colt. I did a lot of research, and found that some people had problems with older models. Apparently Kahr re-designed some part of the gun (not sure what) and the newer models are very reliable. I have also been told that Kahr has good customer service if you do need it. That's good enough for me to take the plunge, and I am really looking forward to having something that comfortably slips into a pocket that is magazine-fed. |

" and without the shirt covering you could just barely see the butt of the grip. I will say I like pocket carry in jeans better than my work slacks. Seems easier to draw from. Also a little more care free than my VMII IWB. I have ZERO worries of printing. Though I am giving up a little speed in drawing.Again Uncle Mikes #3 pocket holster! |

All my holsters and mag holders are Kramer, so I ordered one of their pocket holsters. They stitch a piece of plastic onto the outside portion facing outward, so you have to order left or right handed. It breaks up the profile of the gun completely, and makes it look like a wallet when it prints against your pant leg when seated. I have one for my 640 and really like it, although the 640 is too heavy to carry in any pocket but jeans and heavier shorts.

Fourteen thousand plus (not a typo) rounds later, nearly 100% reliable (two weak mag springs caused a couple of FTF problems), I'm still lov'n this pistol I purchased new June 2005. Tough Guy Levi NRA Cert. Pistol Inst. Orange, CA |

I have an opinion about the Kahr PM9. In my opinion I should have one in my pocket right now. Unfortunately I don't own one (yet).
I consider the PM9 a real world alternative to a 5 shot J frame. I REALLY like revolvers, though. |

I have a S&W 640 on my permit. It's just too heavy for a pocket carry. One of these days I'm going to buy one of the ultra light weight J frames. Till then, the PM40 is the primary gun on my permit.
I know I need an O frame to be accepted. I just don't have one that's right for carrying yet. |
