The PM9 in a Smart Carry is a great option for hiking or when you need extra deep deep seriously deep can't-remotely-tell kind of weapon.

Remember the motto of the Smart Carry:

A PM 40 will also be there, it's the one a member is selling.

Also need to finish my break in on my CDP Compact.

Need to run some carry ammo through both of them too.

But for me the PM9 is going to stay home most of the time. It is only going out as a BUG or in the case as SWDR said. Deep conceal situations. I anticipate during the holidays it will get a fair amount of use in those situations.
So what was your impression of it? I just put ran 200 rds. through a new PM9 today. It took me longer than I thought to get used to the long trigger reset. Accuracy was good with WWB and Remington UMC. No failures or malfunctions of any kind. My only complaint is that the magazine does not fall freely when the mag release is pressed. This forces me to pull the mag out with my index finger. I'll get used to it but on first impression, it's annoying and slows down reloading.

The PM9 worked great. Yes trigger kinda sucks when coming from a 1911 platform. Actually really sucks. But that is probably just my impression when coming from a single action trigger pull.

Plus I think I have a new condition. I call it PM9 trigger finger. When I use my pad on trigger as trained. "over 150 rounds shot" With my larger hands, my outer knuckle area of my trigger finger hits the bottom of the trigger guard when I pull trigger and when it recoils my outer edge of finger rubs on trigger guard causing a blister that is now a scab.

If I knuckle the trigger, problem gone. Bu that is not going to happen.

Good thing is this is not a range gun. When I practice I will throw some tape on my trigger finger. I had zero malfunctions. It was accurate. So it is what it is and for what it is, it's a winner for me!

Oh I guess I must add. I did have 2 operator induced malfunctions. Caused by off hand hitting mag release button. Slight change in grip fixed that. But sounds like we had opposite issues. No problem for my mags dropping though. They seemed to drop on command.

I will say it was one TIGHT firearm. Slingshot method hardly got it into battery for about 75 rounds or so. But like they said in the manual, after a decent break in period that got much better.

I still need another 150 rounds to be sure. Then some carry ammo as the final test. But so far so good.

Ahhh, It may just be that the magazine well is tight on mine. At the range today it would only eject about 1/8 of an inch. I just did about 50 magazine changes and now it ejects 1/4 inch with the slide locked back and 3/4 inch with a snap cap in the chamber. It seems like progress.

I suspect that it will get better with a bit more wear.

I have a Kahr PM40 and last night put 150 rounds through it without one FTF, FTE, Failure to go into battery (like so many have posted). I am not recoil shy and find the .40 cal quite easy to shoot. I think it shoots better than the 9mm and have shot both putting about 100 rds through the PM9. Kahr makes a great gun for CC. The PM are lighter but not as well made as the MK series. I'm looking at the MK but would only consider in the .40 cal. ?45 cal?

4 months later and still love my PM9. Shot a 100 rounds through it the other night. Including double taps. Very easy to keep follow up shots online.

Trigger is actually good. I think I bashed it before. It is a long double action type trigger pull. But it's very smooth.

I prefer the pinky extension on my 6 round carry mag and carry the 7 round mags for back up that also have a spot for the pinky.

I carry it in a pocket "dress slacks or cargo pant pocket" with a Uncle Mikes #3 pocket holster. I also bought a Milt Sparks VMII for it that works out nice for IWB when I want something smaller and lighter to carry that day.

If you use the slide stop lever to release slide as the manual recomends and break it in with 300 or so rounds you should have no problems.
