Default Longarms and CCWs...?

This might sound like a stupid question, and I'm 90% sure of the answer, but can you have a longarm, such as a shotgun, listed on your permit? Obviously an intelligent person would not attempt to conceal one on their person...I'm thinking of course about keeping a loaded shotgun or carbine in your trunk for example.

Flame away..

I have heard that one rural county in Ca will add a shotgun to your permit as a fourth weapon. I booked it under 'urban myth'. There is one person I can think of who may be able to confirm this.
The license itself states ' pistol, revolver or other firearm' but it alos includes the word 'concealed'. Since it does not say 'concealed upon your person' it may not be a myth.

Nope. Can't list a shotgun on your permit. Can't keep a loaded firearm in your car, unless it's a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed (without alteration - in other words, a handgun) and it's on your person and listed on your valid CCW.

Quote:
Licenses to Carry Concealed Weapons

A license to carry a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person may be granted...
(Penal Code § 12050.)

Loaded Firearms in a Public Place

It is unlawful to carry a loaded firearm on one’s person or in a vehicle while in any public place, on any public street, or in any place where it is unlawful to discharge a firearm.(Penal Code §12031(a)(1).)

Exceptions

The prohibition against possessing loaded firearms in a public place does not apply to:

- Holders of licenses to carry concealed handguns.

I knew of a guy who was retired CIA near my area back in the 90's who had a shotgun on his permit. Now, I never actually SAW the permit...so it's hearsay at this point.
