I have yet to have a FTF with American made ammo (Remington, Winchester, Federal, CCI) and would not hesitate to bet my life on their reliability. I use standard velocity Federal 230gr in my CCW. That's a big piece of lead no matter how you color the picture.

I must edit my list, after some shooting in no / low light situations I have gone to Hornady Tap 230 +P. I was really surprised at the low flash of these rounds. MagTech has been tossed under the bus.

Why go with a 230 grain bullet, why not go with a lighter bullet?
You should be able to develop more velocity with a lighter bullet, in a caliber that is already slow, staying subsonic is not an issue, I mean we are not dealing with a suppressed operation, so it doesn't matter.
Yeah, yeah....inertia in a heavier bullet...blah, blah...We agreed we are going to go with FMJ-Ball for a .45ACP.......SHOW ME!.....I am from the "Show Me" state.
Let's get a argument going.....There has got to be a trade off. How about distance...not a big deal, we are shooting in CQB...no wind drift, bullet drop..... any of that. What is the drop on the GAP round, faster powder....more snap....is there a control issue ? does it make sense?
Over to you good buddy.......

Are you really from the STL? And asfar as making them leak. Nothing will do it like my 2500 cummings. I've got a couple busted antlers to back that. LOL (NOT ON PURPOSE) BACK ROADS MISSOURI
