Default Colt .380 Government Model Full Length Guide Rod Kits

Steve Bedair of guiderods.com has .380 Government guide rod kits ready for sale, and they look fantastic.

Steve Bedair Stainless Guide Rods for Handguns

Steve is a great guy and aims to please. I just loaded one into my Pocketlight Gov'y and it's slick! This also allows you to remove the slide first, then drop spring tension (my preferred way of taking down an o-frame). You can set the slide down on the bench and the recoil spring won't go anywhere so you don't have to break the slide down any further if you're just looking inside the lower.

Check out his whole inventory, especially you Sig fans!

I saw the Rod two days ago. InBoost needed to try it on other Goverment size frames. I had a few laying around.

It is well made and the spring plug is done right. It has my vote.

If the photo was any bigger, you think it was a 45.

Mine came today. Took about 30 seconds to install (because Anthony was asking me to explain every part). VERY nice. Machining is perfect - no tool marks that I can see. And, the stainless doesn't look bad with the blue at all.

Mr. Bedair is one of the good guys. Great to work with.

Thanks Inboost - ya done good here!

Cool, I'm glad you like it. Steve is top notch. If you look him up on the web you'll find he also builds telescope mounts. He even built his own worm gear drive system from scratch! He's definitely a skilled machinist in my book.

If you water and feed it, will it become a .45? If I hadn't known the topic of this thread I would have sworn we were talking about .45. Good thing I didn't say anything dumb!

Mine came in today and I'll be testing it out tonight. Install was a breeze and the guide rod does look really nice and clean.

"Install" is overdoing it, it kind of just drops in! You probably did it while you were driving home too.

actually no... cause that gun was at home (although the traffic was so bad I could have stripped a gun and put it back in the car without any interruptions). Anyways, I took it to a range and I like it Seems a bit more accurate with it.
