I own a P226 .40 and love it! Some say it's too big for CCW, but it all comes down to personal preference anyway.
For every person who says a gun's too big, another will come along and say that they carry a full size pistol. I've got a few thousand rounds threw both the .40 and .357 sig barrels with no failures. |

Sigs are a class act. Hands down. The elite services use them. They just came out with the P-220 Carry. Way to go!
Don't know about the DAK trigger, came out after my time. In comparison, I had a H&K USP Compact LEM, my duty weapon, came and went, I don't miss it. I own a P-226, the adrenaline factor/rush is there even just when you touch it!. I will never sell it! |

Love Sigs....my carry is 239 - 9mm awaiting for my Tucker Answer IWB..also use my wife's Sig 232 sometime - .380....great size and very concealable. Carry my 229R 9 mm in Winter primarily when wearing a coat more often due temp here in Dallas.
Great reliability, no problems and I happend to prefer the DA/SA hammer format. Galco Fletch hide-rides OWB are fabulous for the 239 and 229 as well!! Good 1 3/4- 2" belt by Galco included in that!! //JOhn |

Yah, I do its all metal P220 Stainless. Good gun, on the heavy side but shoot well. For my size, 155lbs, 6ft 7in, Too bulky for carry concealed. I use it in IDPA and IPSC sometimes. Mostly it stays in my bedside drawer. One of my carry gun is P239, 9mm.

I have a Sig P220ST with a few bells and whistles added form the factory (Limited 2005 run), and it's my favorite. The quality of the workmanship is what I can't ever get past. I'm not a brand bigot, I'll try and buy anything. I own heavy metal type guns, and "plastic" Glocks.
I own a Ruger KP90 which is big and arguably ugly, but it goes bang each and everytime. Will digest any ammo. I have about 6000+ rounds through it (with two slides and barrels) and never have had any FTF, stovepipe, misfire, etc. However, put it next to my Sig and it's like a work truck next to a finely made luxury car. After about 2500 rounds through the Sig, I've only have one jam and I think that was an hastily and improperly loaded mag. It's much more accurate than I am. The SA/DA trigger on it . . . pure sex. But yes, it cost twice what the KP90 did. ![]() |

I just picked up a 226 in 9mm a few weeks ago and loved it. My favorite gun always has been and maybe always will be my S&W 686, but as much as I love shooting it, .357 Mag is expensive, and I hate shooting .38 SPL since it fouls up the chambers, so I've been looking for a nice shooting 9mm range gun since 9mm is relatively cheap and .22 is just boring.
Also, my girlfriend who is new to shooting and doesn't like the recoil of any of my guns was excited to get a nice mild shooter and after she tried the 226 she loved it too. I'll probably make it my nightstand gun loaded with CorBon 115 gr. +P ... I'm going to get night sights and a tac light for it, and may send it in for the Short Reset Trigger job since the SA trigger has quite a bit of unnecessary travel to it. Anyway, it's my first SIG and so far I love it ... on busy days when I can't get to the range, it just kills me to think about shooting a hundred rounds or so through it!!!! |
