Default Good Deal?

Just wondering if this is a good deal? I can get a G22 for $485 or a G21 for $555 out the door. And I believe it will come with 3 high cap mags due to getting the LE discount on them. What do these go for in other areas?

The price is excellent, the mags are a problem unless you are a LEO.

I told him I work for the BoP and he said that qualifies for the LE discount and it comes with the mags. If I do not qualify can I be in trouble if the dealer provided them as part of the package?

Yes sir it causes a big problem. For you to legally acquire those magazines, you need a letter from your agency.

So to clarify, I can get the LE discount with my ID, but to be given the high cap mags that the dealer provides with the Glock LE discount I need a letter from my agency saying I am authorixed to have them, or that I actually work for that agency?

Yeah basically, it is sickening that we have to jump through all these hoops. What if they dealer tells me I do not need the letter that my ID is all he needs, am I still responsible? Or is the dealer the liable party?

Try Topglock.com. They go from $459 to $505 depending on the model. You pay shipping and transfer of course.

Of course your still responsible.
I know this is California and all, but personal responsibility must reign.
The dealer may be in trouble too but that will not excuse the purchaser for not knowing the law.

That you work for them and are authorized to have high caps.

Does this not apply because he's a corrections officer and not a PO?

Policy Change Regarding State Exemptions for Authorized Peace Officers
Effective immediately, peace officers who have legislative authority to carry and use firearms may, without a letter signed by the head of their agency or the agency head's designee, purchase non-rostered handguns and/or large capacity magazines. The peace officer must present a valid peace officer identification card and the dealer must retain a copy of the identification card on file. (PC 12132 & 12133). A letter is still required from the head of the agency to exempt the peace officer from the ten day waiting period. (PC 12078).

The change went down about 90 days ago. They are still asking dealers for the letters durning inspections. Two weeks ago a enforcment officer for the DOJ taught a class with 100 officers in it. He said you still need a letter.

Left Hand / Right Hand . . . .
