Go to MidwayUSA, Natchez, Brownells, Cabelas, etc. and try to give them money for O-frame trinkets (you can't). However they are happy to sell you anything you want for your 1911.

Regardless of what it's called it's what I shoot & carry.
you left out Band-aid is a brand of adhesive bandage

I think Inboost should post the cover of the Colt "O" manual. and maybe the 1911 manual from the USofA Army. I would, but I loaned them both to him.

SEE!!!!! TOLD YOU SO !!!!!!!!

The Military gun is a 1911 A1 or A2. Commercial 45's are called "O" frames.

Calling a 45 a 1911 is like calling a Volkswagon a Porsche.

OK, Military issue is A1 & A2 Frame, All commercial O Frame, I assume both 70 & 80 Series. So what is the difference physically?

As long as you stay with Colt you are correct. There is no O frame Kimber, Springfield or S&W. That's my story and I am sticking with it.

All none 1911A1 (arch mainspring housing) and A2 (flat mainspring housing and lanyard loop) are "O" frames
