So what should I realistically plan on carrying? I like full frame pistols but when I get my CCW from Vallejo (I'm thinking positive), I'm wondering if a compact would be the better choice?
I've settled on a H&K USP .40 S&W as they are the most comfortable in my hand over a Glock and Sig, given my size would a full frame still be OK for IWB? I admit, when I was in the service we had issued shoulder holsters that fit under our parachute rigging and I prefer shoulder holsters, however, during the summer that's not an option and my girl has already said she'd stop sleeping with me if I got a fanny pack holster .So, in short, could a guy my size pull off a full frame without it printing or should I just go with a compact? |

6'10 & 300 lbs? Of course you can pull it off.
I'm only 5'7 and 150 lbs and I have carried 2 full size pistols at the same time on occasion, so I'm confident someone of your stature can do it easily. Like others are saying here, a bit of change in your clothing & jacket you wear will make the difference.

I always figured when I was 330 pounds that I could conceal a bigger gun a lot easier. Figured it could hide in my fat or something. ha ha But I actually have such an easier time concealing a bigger gun now that I lost 120 pounds. For me it was all about comfort. When I was bigger, the bigger guns dug into my side way too much and hurt really bad, so I pretty much had to only carry the subcompact guns. But now that my sides don't hang over my belt, I can much more comfortably carry my bigger Glock IWB. I think you just have to try different things. Sure you can conceal a bigger gun, but it might be too uncomfortable as my experience showed me.

6'10" 310lbs., Well, I'm 6'7" 295 lbs., and when I CCW at home I carry my XD .40 compact. I would think that a full size frame, of any kind, would fit real nice at 3 or even 4 o'clock IWB. Just give it a try at home and get a good feel for it before you get approved. Oh, welcome to the forum and good luck.

You can definitely pull it off with the right holster, belt, and clothing. I'm 5'11" and 270. My carrys are either a Glock 22 or Glock 30.
Of course at 6'10" many folks of lesser stature will be looking directly at your beltline! ![]()
