so... want a new gun AND want it to be a revolver?
why not go all the way? Product: Model 325 Night Guard - .45ACP of course... 325NG (Matte Black) / Scandium/Stainless Steel Finish Revolver 2.5" .45 ACP 2/18/2011 it's also on the list... I mean... if the revolver is already wider than the Kahr... at least this one isn't wider than a car... ![]()

I've had mine for over two years, put out about 1500 rounds to date. I've fired the .357 and it's a kick and a flamer. For me, no quick 2nd shot is possible with the .357. At night, flame destroys your night vision.
I've opted to carry the great .38 135gr. Speer Gold Dot. Outstanding ballistic performance, designed for the short barrel revolver. I love the X/S front sight that's standard with the 340PD. Have no problems scoring well on range quals with the firearm. I like the weight and configuration of the 340PD. While I also carry the G27 IWB on occasion, I must prefer my 340PD in my pocket holster or on my ankle in an Alessi rig. It's always there. Depending on what I'm wearing, I've got either a Speedloader or Speed Strip in my pockets. |

I have a very early 360PD that experienced a frame crack shooting factory ammo. S&W immediately fixed it, and I've since put thousands of rounds through it with no issues. I'd go for the hammerless model if you plan to pocket carry. I don't have any problems with it snagging, but I keep it in a good IWB holster and practice a lot.

Just to add: I only carry 38Spl+P in this revolver, as the .57 loads have a LOT of flash and concussion for only a little more knockdown.
I do think a .357 frame is a good idea if you're shooting a lot of hot +P loads, and it _might_ avoid damage from an out of spec hand load. JN Quote:

I had a 649 with the hogue grips. Compared to the Kahr, it's an anvil. The thing weighed like 3 pounds loaded - you could drive nails with it.
No offence to wheelgun fans, but I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with the sights on that thing, so I gave it up for the Kahr. Get the Kahr 380 and be happy. ![]()

I carry the 340pd daily. 158grain buffalo bore 38+p lhp that chronographs at 999fps from this gun. The 135grain Gold dots in the .357 flavor chronograph a little slower at 789fps.
This little revolver is so light you almost forget you are carrying it. You may want to take the side plate off and give it a deep cleaning by taking the flag out or at least give the tab on that flag a very fine polish with a grinding wheel. From the recoil the flag can snag the hammer back and lock it up over a live primer...not a fun way to drive home if you don't bring a gunsmithing set to the range. Fortunately I do bring a gunsmithing set in my range bag and was able to jam a gap gauge between the firing pin and the primer while I CAREFULLY took the sideplate off, with the barrel facing down range...at which time the offending part was removed. It has never jammed ever since ![]()
