Kimber Ultra CDP and Pro Carry both are not fussy feeders. Wilson mags are a must.

No grinding for me. But I did polish the ramp with some rouge and a dremel. Just cause I wanted to. The gun has been stone reliable. The KimPRO finish is sketchy, but the gun is nuts. Accurate, well behaved, sex to look at. Got 1032 FPS out of the little thing with Remington 185 +p sabers. Lots of snap but I got used to it.

I LOVE my Kimber. A full size Custom TLE is just gotta happen. Soon. And a Raptor. Im screwed.

the Gold match too right? Oh, PLUS the new model they just started this year--what's it? The new Ultimate Carry CDP11 or something? PLUS the camo one with the lasergrips too right? yeah...

I don't know why, but I got a chuckle out of this.

Well I guess I'm just going to have to try one for myself. That probably would have been the smart thing to do in the first place.

nope. Smart would be to run, run away now--fast as you can and never look back and no Kimbers whatsoever because they are too pretty and make you feel like a mockingbird with a giant empty nest above a yard full of shiny stuff.... it's too much...

I would have sold my Kimber if it was as fussy as some of your experiences.

the ONLY thing that kept my kimber Pro CarryII from being 100% reliable, was the stock mag, and A limp wristed shot or two from the wife.

Once I ditched the Kimber crap mags, no FTF's, ever. My wife had two mags in a row with an FTF, I told her what she did wrong, no more problems. Not once.

FWIW, Her Springfield Loaded is a POS. Does not feed for me, her, or anyone, no matter the ammo, and no matter the mag.

That thing is up for sale. It looks prettier than the Kimber, but it cannot be trusted.

Probably not too relevant but I had some problems with Cor-Bon ammo in my Classic Custom, and failure of the slide to lock back on the last round with my Pro Carry. I stopped using Cor-Bon and have shot about everything else there is through both guns with very rare FTF. The Wilson mags cure the failure of Pro Carry slide to lock back. I use only Wilsons in the Pro Carry. The Classic seems happy with about any mag, though I have not tried any Cor-Bon through it since.

For me the biggest choice between the Glock and any 1911 is the trigger pull. Depending on the circumstances, the longer pull of the Glock could prevent firing on someone who didn't deserve it. It is more tolerant, I guess to say, of adreniline-induced hand tremors. On the other hand, once the little dingus on the Glock's trigger is depressed, the gun is without any further safety mechanism. I am more comfortable carrying a 1911 cocked and locked with the manual and grip safeties at work.

A PD in Indiana changed from Glocks after two troops shot themselves in the leg in a two week period, 2008 I think. Simple error, they had their trigger finger in the wrong place when they slammed the weapon into the holster. Sigh.

That's the only thing that concerns me about carrying a Glock. I guess it's just something you have to get used to...the lack of any external safety. But I also see that as a positive because there's nothing to mess around with if, god forbid, you ever have to use it for its intended purpose.

This is interesting what I'm reading about the Kimber mags. Are they really that bad? I don't understand how a company can make such high quality pistols, but completely screw the pooch on something as simple as the magazine.

I think the mags of Kimber are just as individual as the guns 'cause my magazine works great--just went to the Wilson's for extra capacity...as for the Glock I had a real bit of a tizzy getting used to the trigger system but it's the trigger system that played the key factor in my determination to switch. Now that I have a week of carrying 24/7 I am just as comfortable with the Glock attached to my ample belly as with the condition 1 CDP11--now if something bad happens there is one less thing for me to screw up. If I have the presence of mind to get the gun pointed and my finger into the trigger I am happening.Even though I practiced sweeping the safety on the other guns it was still one more thing I could miss and not being sure how I will react I want the least amount of screw-up opportunities available.PLUS the Glock is like an ugly puppy--so ugly it's cuteoh, AND it's not all the time poking me and stuff...
