Not sure. The only competing I've done at 5 Dogs was with sporting clays. All the high power silhouette was done out by McKittrick years ago. We sort of got out of the whole competing thing for a long time and just stuck to hunting because my family ran in to hard times and couldn't affort the travel and costs of competing.

To be honest, I need to get out to 5 Dogs more often. I just found a new shooting buddy, so I'm hoping to get back in the game.

I had one with no powder in it because I was DISTRACTED. OK?

I am too busy to reload my own ammo. I shoot around 500 rounds a month, and just don't have that much time. Work, wife, son, Army reserves, and the honey do list take all of it.

Maybe years from now when I have the time, I will take it up as a hobby.

You might not say that using a progressive loader. But there isn't anything faster than a Visa loader.

If you have a couple of hours a month you can load as much as you're shooting.

If you have a couple of hours a month you can load as much as you're shooting. It can be 15 minutes here and there and you can load enough to cover your range session.

Dang you shoot 500 rounds a month and choose not to reload? Honestly it would pay for itself very quickly.

I know the time aspect is not on your side but honestly think about saving 50% of what you are spending now.

Ok, by now you gotta pretty good idea on reloaders and what you’ll need to get you going. So now you’re going to need powder, others can chime in on that types to buy. Something to look at is you’re going to buy it in small cans, 4 pounds, or 8 pound tubs, the smaller the can the more you’re going to pay, with that being said how many grains of powder are we going to use per charge? (casing) How many rounds can I get out of a pound of powder? Were buying our bullets in bulk, so each bullet costs X amount and you can break down the cost of primers. How many rounds per pound can I get, and there’s your price per round. I can’t speak for all but they’re a few who shoot one or two times a week, that could be easy 400 + a week who knows.
I shot a lot. When the wife comes out there’s another couple hundred plus. That’s why we reload.
You’ll have a blast good luck

Always get you’re powder charge info from the manufacturer

Since he's reloading 9mm, here are some small pistol primers in stock NOW:
Browsing CCI

For powder, I've always had good experiences with Hodgdon's Clays Universal for 9mm, though many people prefer the performance of Alliant's Power Pistol and Accurate Arms No.7

That's a fair price at $28, but only 2k per order... So you get hit with a $25 hazmat charge per order, that's why you want to buy at 10k at a time.

I have been running Hodgdon TiteGroup ever since it was introduced.

cksh8me, double tap post???? Yea, I hate reloading, so it's 20 minutes or so, every couple of days, enough to keep the tank full for the weekend matches. I hate cleaning guns too, that's the real reason I like Glocks, they run filthy as long as they are oiled a little bit, or sparkling clean and dry, but not very long when both filthy and dry! (It's an Austrian thing....oiling makes up for cleaning)

Yeah, that hazmat fee is the killer. Midway has no quantity restrictions, so I always wait until they get a shipment in and stock up.

TiteGroup is awesome for .45...very clean too. Never really liked it for 9mm.
