Default My new Sig P220 carry elite not on the approved list

I was born & raised in So Cal but been in So FL the last 18 months. Now I'm looking to move back HOME. I'm a new shooter - first fired a handgun about a month ago - and I'm hooked! I got my FL CCW in 18 days! I have a M&P .40c and now a new Sig 220 Carry Elite (all stainless ). Both will be strictly for personal use. With all my research so far, it seems like I should be ok to register it (8-round mag), but I'm trying to be absolutely sure. I haven't been able to pick up a copy of "How to Own a Gun & Stay Out of Jail" yet but that's first on my list when I cross the border.

Seems like Sig just hasn't gotten around to submitting the elites for testing. No one can figure any other reason for not being approved.

I was directed to this sight for advice. Any thoughts on my understanding? Do I have anything to worry about?

Should I pick up another non-listed piece?

Thanks!

You're okay to bring the pistols. Just replace any hi cap mags with 10 rounders or less. Then see THIS THREAD for info on registering your handguns when you move here.

The gun doesn't need to be on the safe list for you to import it here when moving. That list only applies to purchases direct from FFL dealers.

Now's also the time to acquire any handguns you want that are not on the list. Once you are here, you can only do it through private party transfers - if you can find them in CA.

I'd get that in writing, my interpretation of the law is that since you exported them to FL, bringing them back into CA constitutes importing. I agree, the laws are very confusing and can mean 5 different things to 5 different judges.

He doesn't need it in writing. They had to be in state prior to 1/1/2000. That's he law.

The gentleman from Florida can bring in all non approved guns before moving here. You were send to this site because of me. I'm the only State SME that post on a forum.

Hint! Buy and bring in several Kimbers Desert Warriors and Seecamp 380's. When you sell them after you have registered them, it will pay for your move.

This is legal. IPSC shooter do it all the time.
