Like a hand grenade...

Will make him easily ID'd by LEO too!

Well, the nice think about the PPK/S is that it is a blowback design and has its barrel fixed to the frame (as opposed to slopping around in the slide). This is a great plus for accuracy. It means tighter groups. The iron sights aren't great, but the potential increase in accuracy of the fixed barrel is real.

Shot placement with a .380 is critical. Laser sighting (e.g. Crimson Trace)
helps a lot.

I really like the looks of the P380, but it might get lost in larger hands. I have a PM9 that pockets pretty well...I like that gun a lot! Not sure, but it could be difficult trying to be effective with something smaller, size-wise as well as caliber.
I thought it was all about the bore diameter...not barrel length...
what... I'm just askin'....or am I missing something...
I mean .380 IS 9mm... isn't it...

MSRP for the FED model is $649, best I've seen through Davidson's network is $545 but they don't have them very long. Maybe better at GunBroker.com (but again that's also for the NON-CA version). Most of the sub compact stuff is flying off the shelves with the combination of shall issue and Obama, Holder, and the fun bunch. We'll just have to wait a couple of weeks to see about the CA version.

Does anyone have an update on these? I don't see it on the DOJ list...

Not yet. I’ve been watching the list for it. DOJ told me it would likely be up by last week if the testing was good. I'm just waiting, might call DOJ again if it's still not listed next week.

Thanks for the quick reply. If it happens - where's the best place to start looking for it? Davidson's?

On line, I've only seen them on gunbroker.com lately ((buy now @ $620+), but keep in mind everything out there is not CA version. I'm assuming the CA version will be tough to track down if/when it gets approved. When I was looking for my M1A Scout well before the election, I called all over the state and finally got lucky. There may be some somewhere, but I have not seen any since. Point being, it may be a pain.

Thanks, I'll keep an out too and post here if I find it - but as far as you know, the "CA version" will definitely be a separate version than what is available now?

As far as I know, yes, but that's not saying a lot...take a look through this thread, a lot of folks with more knowledge of what makes a CA v FED information.

the 9mm short people are dancing in the streets...come one come all...enjoy an adult beverage and open thy pocketbooks...the short one calls...
do you really need another reason to buy a gun... it's available and that is all you need...realizing of course the ones that are not available in calif. are even more desireable than the ones that are avialable...SHWMBO... looked at this post and wants one with an all black slide...and night sights... don't suppose calif. has an approved sku for that do you...no...of course not...what we can't have is always more desireable than what is available...up with capitalism
