Default Blazer Aluminum Ammo

I about pissed my pants when I saw 1000 round case of .45 for 329.00 Decent price. But then I noticed it wasn't brass, it was aluminum. I know CCWI says steel cases are a big no no, because they will screw up your extractor, how about aluminum rounds? Are they safe to use in my kimber or will they just mess it up? I want to get affordable ammo but its not worth ruining my guns over. Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

CCI Blazer is aluminum and is a soft metal, actually softer than brass. So yes, it is completely safe in your gun. So go enjoy a day at the range

One note...you cannot reload aluminum...

Fantastic, looks like there is a range day in my near future. Haven't started to reload yet....... but working on it. just need to find the time. Got a nice box full of used brass for when I start though. Just not willing to pay 450-500 + for a case of 45. Thanks for the help!!!

My friend has a glock - aluminum CCI jams frequently. Not sure about other weapons.

In my .380 I've shot plenty of aluminum CCI blazer out of it. It was cheap back when you could actually find ammo at Walmart. Have not had a failure yet with that ammo. Loads and extracts fine. Nice not to worry about picking up brass with that ammo.

Keep in mind some ranges don't allow it. They don't want to go through the hassle of sorting it.

I've shot a ton of Aluminum Blazer through my Glocks with no problems, apart from the empty cases flying in all kinds of strange directions. The case is lighter than brass, so the 'ejection path' is a lot less predictable - and usually they fly farther too.

went to the range yesterday and put 50 flawless blazer aluminum rounds down range (G23), they seemed just as accurate if not more than my WWB

I like the blazer aluminum, its nice not having to worry about picking up your brass! It seems to go bang every time too. Great practice ammo.

Ditto, I've never had trouble with the limited Blaser i've shot. Picking up the empties from my auto revolver hasn't been too hard. :-)

Blaser did make some brass, but it is pretty thin and i'm not sure about reloading it. I've got it set aside for when I run out of my 5000 empty regular brass ....
