Default Ammo Coming Back???????

I got some intel from one of my friends......Wally World was going to receive a stash this morning!!.
I was number 2 there this morning......Boxes of 250 rounds....45ACP and 9mm. Got 250 of 45ACP and 500 of 9mm. The other guy ran up a hell of a charge!!!!
I paid 92 bucks with tax for the 250 rounds of 45ACP and $56.26 with tax for 250 rounds box of 9mm. Did not want to be greedy, so I bought 2 boxes.... 500 rounds of 9mm.....
They also got an assortment of 38 spec, 44, 22 and a mix bag of oddball stuff.
No 380. I am happy!!!!

$92 for a 250rd box?
WOW!
Last year I got one for $59...before elections. They are going the same way as gas - "Let's see how much we can stick the consumer before it blows up in our faces" sort of attitude. At this rate, and if AHHNOLD signs that horrible bill, we are all screwed in this nanny state we are stuck living in.

I saw the 250 round box of Remington UMC for $147. at a local Mom and Pop shop. Is the 250 round box your getting at Wally World to same stuff? Is this just at your local WW, or did the floor gates open at all of them?

You never know what to believe these days. One shop owner tells me it could be 1 1/2 to 2 years before the ammo shelves at well stocked once again. He said he heard Federal was 18 months back ordered. Then I read on the Internet that the "ammo hoarders" are almost stocked up to their satisfaction, so supply will soon catch up with demand. Who knows what to believe???? All I know is components are still hard to find for some items and what the locals are charging is ridiculous! I still have a backorder in from Cabela's from July for powder and primers. One shop in town wants $80. for a 1000 primers. The shops that haven't jacked the price, naturally don't have any to be found. I think Capitalism is great until I'm the one flipping the bill!

I was in Pittsburgh on Sunday and Monday. The person I visited has a brother who works high up the chain for ATK. He can normally buy ammo direct from them through his brother at close to 50% off if they have it in the warehouse, which is usually full with an abundance of different calibers.

He said their warehouse is empty right now. What ever makes it in is shipped straight out and they won't let him buy any ammo until it is stocked up again in the warehouse.

Reno and Carson City Wally Worlds have a few calibers of handgun and plenty of 223 and some other rifle ammo. They were beginning to get in more, but the sought after stuff is going out fast after it is stocked.

I have seen a lot more on the shelves here recently at the local shops, Have not been to WW in quit a while. I'll have to go to see soon. Maybe getting better as far as the 7am line goes now that most places are getting ammo in around here. Hard to beat WW prices thou.

Unhappy No ammo

I stopped going to Wally Worldmonths ago because the only thng they ever had were a few boxes of rifles rounds and lots of shotgun shells. No 9. 40s. 45s. or even 22s.

The next question is whether the prices will drop when the run ends. The last time I found some 100 rd boxes of CCI minimags (the only thing that feeds reliably in a Sig mosquito), they cost me $9 each.

Default No handgun ammo

I went to WalMart yesterday. Lots of shotgun shells, so the ducks should be wary, and plenty of .270 and .308. Some HMRs and two boxes of 22-250. That was it. And my son just called me and said that Ahnold signed the damn ammo bill. There goes my practice budget.

Yep. So it will probably get harder. I watch the rest of the other guys waiting by the front door of Wallyworld, gathering at about 6:55 AM, waiting for the doors to open at 07:00 and off they go like a horse race.
Not everyone goes to sporting goods, but the usual suspects will go for it. Sometimes the ammo is not even on the shelves, still in boxes, so there goes my CRKT Crawford to work. Let's see what we got today!!! We, like good pirates share the loot....Ha,Har.
Good Luck.

EVERYONE has shotgun shells. When will we see more pistol ammo?? I heard from a guy at work the other day that there is a pistol ammo called .380. Haven't seen it but he says it is real. I don't know...sounds like one of those internet rumors.

I was at the gun store a couple weeks ago and saw a flyer for either ruger or sig, it was this new tiny pistol thats supposed to be coming out in 2010. It uses .380 then i asked the range master what the f¥¥¥ a 380 round was, he showed me. What a little guy.

The .380 is essentially a 9 mm short. It is shorter than a .38. The Bersa Thunder and the Walther PPK are in .380. tiny little pocket pistols, only useful at point blank ranges. but then again, point blank is usually where things happen. Very concealable as a pocket pistol.

I hope you are talking about the Ruger LCP. Right now it is available to LEO only. I want to get one for my wife for CCW since it is small enough and doesn't pack such a big recoil as my .40.

The round is also referred to as 9mm short, 9mm Kurz, 9x17mm. The Mrs is more comfortable with it and since it is smaller, the weapons can be more compact. The LCP is tiny...saw one at Ade's and it is sweet.
