Got to see one on range about a month ago. Big hulking thing, didn't seem very accurate. I shot it out of curiosity (everyone was shooting everything). I think the owner got it for $125 new!? I was able to place on target at 25 feet, however the owner had great trouble keeping it on the paper at all. It just felt awkward to hold and shoot. The sights were a bit screwy too IIRC. I'm going to second the POJ comment made by K-Dog

You get what you pay for - but you can maximize that rule by buying used quality firearms rather than P.O.S. new ones.

If you want a subcompact 9mm get a Kahr PM9, I have one and love it. The only mod on the gun (besides Trijicon sights - the factory sights SUCK) is a very light polishing on the feed ramp. Been totally reliable and accurate for the 3 years I've owned it.

You will not find a high quality, dependable pistol at that price.

If you feel you must have a 9mm, there are many high quality pistols available such as Sig, HK S&W, Beretta and Glock.

A Glock model 26 is about the same size and weight and will prove to be a very accurate, dependable pistol at a more affordable price than many others.

I second that. A Glock 26 is a great gun. You can find them used in great condition in the $400 range. Extra mags for $13 to $15. It will last you a life time.

Not to mention you can sell it for close to what you paid for it forever too.

I have the 9mm carbine (registered assault weapon). It's fun to shoot...but it's an ugly rifle.

...and if you are more financially challenged, Glock police trade-ins come up from time to time on the gun boards. They'll just have the holster wear already built-in (it's a feature). I've seen them as low as $299 - $339. Of course add shipping, tax, and out-of-state to in-state FFL charges.

If that still doesn't convince you - go out now and try to find a decent quality concealed holster for a hi-point

Hi-point equals junk. Bersa is a far better quality firearm and even it falls short of being acceptable.

i own a Hi piont. although i wont carry it as a duty weapon i do use it to maintain my 9mm qualification, it actually prints a decent group, not great but decent. the biggest problem i found is with the mags. you have to make sure you seat the bullets good or it will jam!.

the main reasons i wont carry it are
1. i like my para .45 better
2. most important, Its just too damn UGLY! and i dont want to be embarassed

Thanks for the feedback. He picks it up on the 17th, I will let you all know what I think of it after we go to the range.

I like my PM-9 and the glock 26. I am a 9mm kinda person. These conceal easily & are not that heavy.
The PM-9 is not as fun to shoot as the glock 26, but it is smaller (& does not carry as many rounds).
