Ok so Tula and Wolf are the same or sister companies yes? If my shooting range doesn't allow wolf that probably means I can't shoot tula huh?

Default WWB .45 available

Just scored some .45ACP from Cabela's online. There was still some left as of a couple minutes ago. Winchester White Box .45ACP 230gr FMJ, 100 rounds for $40.99. Go to Cabela's Official Website - Quality Hunting, Fishing, Camping and Outdoor Gear at competitive prices., item #2UG-216162, then select .45AUTO from the drop-down, add to cart, you know the drill.

You can get $5 shipping if your order totals to at least $150, use Promo code 109FALL during checkout.

OMG...you have GOT to be kidding!! That has got to be some serious profiteering right there. Could you have even imagined that a year ago??

Does anyone know if the Remington UMC is a brass case? It sure looks like brass but, I know the "UMC" part stands for "Union Metallic Cartridge" so......

Did I just answer my own question???

I'm confused

Agree about the price spike. I was hoping that ammo prices would drop with the decrease in copper/lead commodity prices, guess I made the wrong call on that one...

What does WallyWorld wants for a 100 round box? I hardly bother checking the local WW in Brea, they haven't had .45 ACP in forever. My brother went to a gun show in Phoenix last month and the best he could find for WWB was $20/50, essentially the same as Cabela's price.

I'm pretty sure it's brass, but I don't have any handy to test. AFAIK, only CCI offers aluminum cases on some of the Blazer line, and I've only seen the steel stuff coming out of the European manufacturers.

Don't know about .45 but WW had .40 Blazer Brass for under $13 last time I bought it there (they haven't had any in about 6 weeks).

Yes, TULA is wolf. That is the actual name of the factory that makes Wolf and any number of the other brands of Russian steel case ammo. Ranges don't care is the case is steel, they care if the jacket or core is. It tears up the backstop. Some of the jackets are a steel alloy.

Remington UMC uses brass, never even heard of domestic ammo manufacturers using steel cases.

Yes they do care if it's steel: it makes it harder for them to collect and sell brass in bulk to whoever gets it from them.

Also Wolf ammo is looked upon as lower quality thus potentially causing a bad situation.

Lastly... it's bad for your extractor...

News to me, seems lazy on the ranges part. All the ranges I've ever been to only care about the bullets. Magnet anyone? They have to sort it anyway. As far as bad situation goes, not sure what you could mean by that. "Good" ammo can cause a "bad" situation just as easily. But hey, they can have whatever policies they want i guess. Not being able to shoot steel cased could be a good enough reason for some to shoot elsewhere.
