Default Rohrbaugh R9

Aimless internet searching can dig up the most interesting stuff! Here's a great 'Coastal' gun

It's about the same size as the Kel-Tec P3-AT but IMHO a nicer piece of hardware in a better caliber with the same capacity (6+1). Available with (R-9s) and without (R-9) sights. Recently they've also introduced a black DLC coated slide in their 'stealth' models.

Too bad it can't be a CA approved piece. The manufacturer specifically states it has no magazine disconnect safety in the manual and this is touted as a feature.

Lots of good info on their site including owners manual, etc.

Good review here

Not sure if I would like the mag release on the bottom of the grip.

My "coastal" gun:

True, I would second that. Still I think I'd pick a heel release over reloading a wheel gun.

I partial to it's looks too!

Impact Guns wants $1000 for it , must be a low production piece.

However, this is pretty cool too!

Chambered in either 457 Magnum or 50 Alaskan built by Wild West Guns in Alaska who are a dealer of the Rohrbaugh pistols I happened across while trying to find a price.

The gun feels fantastic in my hands. I spoke to the owner of the company beginning of this year at the SHOT Show in Florida. He told me he will NEVER submit his guns to get drop tested and approved for Ca sales. It's too bad, he would sell a quiet a few of them I would think.

This pistol reminds me of a Seecamp on steroids. NICE!

I had called the Rohrbaugh company a couple years ago and they said they were working on getting their R9 California approved, but so far they are not on the CA approved gun list. Does anyone know if there is any update or if they still intend to make their guns available to us in California?

As stated above by Glock32, in January, the owner said NO.
