Orange County Sheriff's Advisory Council Meeting

This morning Taxman, CCWI, Female Instructor, Rycerz and myself were at the Orange County Sheriffs Advisory council breakfast meeting in Newport Beach.

We learned about the OCS CSI department and the amazing advances they are making in catching BG's using DNA evidence left behind at crime scenes.

We also had the chance to speak to Mike Carona (The OC Sheriff) at length as he stopped by and chatted with us at the table.

He was very proud of the OCSD reserve program and told us that many other Sheriffs around the nation are interested in following his lead. We chatted about the PSR program and his aim for everyone to be CERT trained so that in an emergency where ever it is in the nation we will be able to respond with an emergency kit provided by the department.

It was a fascinating presentation. I was impressed by the "real" CSI lab and it's Director. I'm looking forward to taking the tour. It was good to see those who were there. I also was happy to finally meet Sheriff Carona in person and I look forward to future events.

It was a very educational experience! I would write more about it but I'm buried with work resulting from being out of the office for a day

Considering he didn't know you before then, I don't think so. He only knew two people by name, and Julie was one of them. He did meet THaves once before.
