Stitches! You did it good! Let me guess... No beavertail on your gun, huh? There is something to be said about a nice beavertail on a 1911/O-Frame!

I got a hammer bite once from mine... No stitches. I've yet to be injured by the slide itself.

I saw pics of what a guy did to himself with a .45 JHP earlier this year (I can't remember the site). One bullet, four wounds; entry & exit on thigh and entry & exit on calf. His leg was swollen twice it's normal size. The bullet mushroomed nicely; they only recovered 75% of it. The rest is still in his leg. It was gruesome.

They actually could not recover 87% of the bullet. It frag and blew out the calf. The round did not retain it's weight. This is after hitting NO bone.

Sorry about those figures. 87% unrecovered vs. 75% recovered is a big difference.

I was in an clients office who is also in the process of getting his CCW in El Dorado County. He told me about his foreman who shot himself in the leg a few years back, had the pics in the office, .45 FMJ, thru and thur. Went thru the couch and imbedded itself in the leg of a large entertainment center. The foreman is still there, but his wife made him get rid of his firearms as he had a habbit of drinking heavily and then deciding to "clean his guns"...again another case of why alcohol and firearms do not mix.

Safety Tip: Make sure your finger (or anything else) is not on the trigger when holstering. Seriously.
