the person i spoke to at las vegas metro police dept informed me the if you r going to be in las vegas for more than 24 hours and you hold a ccw permit that is recognized by the state. you have to register your firearm, obtain a blue card.
this is the information that i recieved from a represenitive of the lvmpd. |

i was able to get intouch with a ccw investigator at the las vegas metro police ccw division. he stated that if you have an out of state ccw that is recognized by the state of nevada and you visit the las vegas area you do not have to have the blue cards. the investigator stated that only if you live in clark county. the investigator told me that the lady i spoke to at the lvmpd sub station was wrong with the information. the investigator will make sure to pass on this info.
i do appoligize for this. i was only passing on info i got from vegas metro police. you would think that they would all be on the same page. if any one needs the number to the ccw division, send me a private message and i will send you there number. once again i do appoligize for this. like i said this is what i was told by a member of the las vegas metro police dept. |

It's a good example of what happens when you ask a police officer a legal question. They're not trained or expected to be experts in law, and though they do their best, they really can't keep up with all the details and policies outside the areas they work on every day.

Never go to a PD/SD for a CCW question. Refer to State law. it is listed there on their web site.
