Huckabee
Now that Huckabee has made some waves winning Iowa, I had a chance to do some reading on how he stands, primary on guns.
This is quoted off of Mike Huckabee for President "The Second Amendment is primarily about tyranny and self-defense, not hunting. The Founding Fathers wanted us to be able to defend ourselves from our own government, if need be, and from all threats to our lives and property. Second Amendment rights belong to individuals, not cities or states. I oppose gun control based on geography. I consistently opposed banning assault weapons and opposed the Brady Bill. As Governor, I protected gun manufacturers from frivolous law suits. I was the first Governor in the country to have a concealed handgun license." What else is there to say? Just my 2 cents. I dont think so I thought he was saying not just for hunting but all should be able to have guns ...

I never thought 2A was about hunting, so I didn't know what to think.
2A is about us or them (Gov't) owning guns. I never thought it was about hunters Vs. ccw people.

Huckabee has a CCW, and I think his son had one until he "forgot" his handgun during an airline check-in, and had it revoked (oops!).
I don't know a lot about his other views, but Huck has been pretty consistantly pro-gun owner, no questions about it. |

There is no doubt in my mind, Huckabee is a different cat. I've watched him quite a bit on the tube, including the Leno show. He is engaging and has a populist streak in him. NH is a ccw friendly state. We will see what the people of the Granite State think of him on Tuesday. After all the motto of the state is: Live Free or Die.
