Default Kern Co Sheriff Has No Challengers

Election roundup: Candidates drop in, out of local races - Bakersfield.com

Quote:
The nomination period to run for the 3rd District supervisor, Kern County sheriff, Kern County assessor-recorder, Kern County treasurer-tax collector and Kern County auditor-controller offices closed without challengers filing to run. Incumbents in those offices will run unopposed.

Since Kern has a liberal CCW policy, I was assume that's a good thing. No?

I think so. I haven't heard of anyone here in Tehachapi that does not like him. Everyone here respects him and his Staff...

Just my opinion,

Billy

Sheriff is OK on ccw... way better than say ... LA county...
not as good as Wimbish as to ccw issue perhaps...
but pretty close... maybe close enough...
and depending upon what happens with McDonald...or SD vs Peruta etc...
then it should get better...
as to law enforcement... the deputies seem pretty pleased now... they seem to like the situation with the dept. better... at least the guys I have contact with in the field...

I hope she will be applying someplace after November. But I wouldn't wish her on anybody.

She will be applying, and applying, and applying........Not just because of the CCW issue.
Look at the other issues. She has brought more turmoil with her in such a short time.......Who in their right mind would want that?

The Sheriff seems to be doing a decent job however I have heard that many people have been getting denied as of lately for CCW's.

With an increase of applications I'd hope the denial rate is staying at the same percent for number of applicants.Say 10 out of 100 get denied, then 100 out of 1000 would be in line with that.and we'd here about a higher number of denials.
I have no inside info, but I hope it's more like this.
