Running Gun IPSC Club
United States Practical Shooting Association USPSA at Norco Running Gun on Saturday November 7th. 6 stages, about 225 rounds, all for $30. This is where you, your training, your gun/gear all come together to test yourself. Competition is no substitute for training, and vice versa, rather it’s a complimentary enhancement of mechanical skills under the pressure of a shot timer, i.e., it is a test. You will use handgun shooting basics; stance, grip, sight picture and trigger control, along with more advanced skills such as transition and movement. There will be magazine changes, moving targets and falling steel. It is all low key friendly, fun and fast. You are not shooting against Grand Masters running Open Race guns, only against yourself. You do not need to be a member of the gun club or USPSA to shoot. All are welcome; ask for the Glock Guy at sign up if you wish to join our squad. Or, come out and watch, see if it’s your cup of tea. |

Update! Can't make Norco because Brian1911 and I have to be on the road at noon. You can never plan to get out of Norco before 2pm because of the giant squads. So here is the plan, we are going to Palm Springs Gun Club for the Stock Gun Match. It's not USPSA, nor IDPA, just a local action match. PSGC is known as the 'Friendliest Place on Earth, like Disneyland....
Home The match is scored as time plus, and there is a CCW match on Sunday November 15th, 5 divisions, Full Size, Compact, SubCompact, Revolvers, and 5 Shot (J Frames). Check it out. |

Thanks so much for switching up your plans so I can again tag along.
I hope others can make it and of all the places I have been I like Palm springs the best. Norco is cool but its a bit large as far as shooters and the wait between stages can be long. It is however one of the more elaborate stage set ups I have seen which is a bonus. Cant wait to make the Palm springs match on Sat. Will be shooting my new 21sf to get acquainted with it even more. It is now my primary CCW only because I can carry it well and shoot these matches with it and still score well. Shooting these matches with compacts that hold 8 rounds can get a bit challenging but I have done it, lol. |

Congrats to Brian! 1st place in Intermediate Auto and 11th overall out of 28 shooters.
Everyone check out the CCW match for this Sunday. It is completely scenario based with 36 total rounds. 5 shot J frames are only required to fire 1 round on the 3rd target. Scheduled Matches CCW Match Third Sunday of every month This Tactical style match is specifically designed for CCW pistols with six scenario based stages of 6 rounds each. Draw from concealment. This fun and challenging match is a great way to gain defensive shooting practice. |

I participated in one that was unsanctioned at Magnum Riverside. The employees and members set up a two stage course similar to a IDPA match. I enjoyed it very much and to my surprise finished second. And to 9x45, I do appreciate you keeping us posted about upcoming events such as this. It will make it easier for any of us to join in the fun. If you are reading this and have not tried these events/competitions, you are missing out. They make you feel really welcome and it is friendly competition. It may give you some small taste of shooting under stress and improve your readiness. Keith

Yes, the Steel Challenge at Apple Valley Gun Club this Saturday.
http://avhdpl.fatcow.com/Public/AVHD...20Calendar.htm It is the Steel Challenge, but only 4 stages out of the 8 sanctioned stages, because Apple Valley only has 3 operating pistol bays. http://steelchallenge.com/ http://www.isishootists.com/scsa.htm Invented by Mike Dalton and Mike Fichman in 1981, the match awarded $390,000 in prizes in 2007. It is the premier competitive shooting match in the world, bar none. It's the essence of shooting discipline. Very little movement, the emphasis is on speed, speed and more speed. There are multiple divisions, not just race guns. The Challenge was sold to USPSA in 2007, but the legend continues. http://www.steelchallenge.com/media/...e-history.html |

The last Sunday of every month. We welcome non-members to both the Steel on the 2nd Saturday and USPSA on the last Sunday.
