Default Early Expirations Starting In MARCH 2009!!!!!

Sheriff Hutchens has been patiently for CA-DOJ to make their software changes to allow her to expire CCW permits early.

The expected completion date is March 2009. Once DOJ has notified OCSD that the new system changes are in place. ""The Sheriff will send a written formal request with the list of CCW permit holders that she wants to modify and include the revised expiration date for each permit."

I would say if something isn't done about this "appointed" sheriff and soon, there should be a whole bunch of ELECTED county board members on therir butts next election.

They flew a helicopter over it last year and broke it up. All they need to do is post temporary no parking signs and that is the end of it.

Is Sheriff Hutchens just marking time until March 2009? | OCCCWS

Is Sheriff Hutchens just marking time until March 2009?

February 6, 2009 by OCCCWS Editor

Documents released to OCCCWS as the result of a Public Records Act (PRA) request show that Sheriff Hutchens’ plan to “expire” the CCW Permits early has not been “on hold pending review” as she indicated to the Board of Supervisors, so much as simply waiting for the Department of Justice to finish software modifications to their system to allow this to be done.
As early as December 9th, the Department of Justice informed OCSD that it would take until March 2009 to make the required changes.
Scans of the emails between the California Department of Justice and Orange County Assistant Sheriff Jack Anderson are provided below.

Note that some of these images have had the names of private citizens or non-command-level employees of the Sheriff’s Department redacted to protect privacy.
Email 1, page 1, page 2: Assistant Sheriff Anderson formally requests the California DOJ make changes to their system in response to comments in a letter from the OC Deputy County Council.
Email 2, Page 1,page 2,page 3 : Wilfredo Cid, Chief of the California Bureau of Firearms responds to Assistant Sheriff Anderson’s email, informing him they will need 90 days to affect the required changes.
