No, it would be fine...there were under cover people sitting in the back rows too...actually, they were EVERYWHERE!!! Standing, leaning, sitting...uniformed, undercover, I have never in my life seen so many LEO in one place, really bizarre. I hope they feel they earned their pay for the day.

Thats where I sat...had two deputies beside me in the door alcove. made pleasantries with them.

And we need to stop calling them undercover...they were blatently obvious...they were the folks who got cut from the undercover squad. I made them the moment I walked in the foyer and did a couple rounds...it was especially obvious when 4 of them parked right next to us.

I still think we should have played our little game a little sooner.

Yep, calling them undercover, is like calling an unmarked police car with exempt plates "undercover". If they made no attempts at trying to stay "undercover" then they were just in plain clothes.

Bottom line - they weren't INTENDED to be undercover. If you made them that quick, it was for a reason. A LEO that is REAL undercover would take a while to spot, even for the experienced folks on the board. They weren't meant to be UC, they were meant to intimidate. If you don't know who they are - they can't be intimidating.

Some of us volunteer with the department and have an association with OCSD... I actually knew a couple of the guys having met them while doing some of my volunteer time... Like Sens, I walked over and spoke to the guys I knew and shook hands with the ones I didn't know... As a group they were very easy to spot... Even the guys and gals I didn't know stood out from the crowd.

I used the term... "Under Cover" when posting about this yesterday... And I prolly should have said "Plain Clothes" instead. It's obvious from their actions they we NOT trying to be Under Cover...

I would bet a lot, however, that 90% of the folks attending the meeting for reasons other than our CCW issue had no idea they were there... That is unless they were searched or asked "Are you carrying weapon?" simply because they looked as sinister as our motely crew....

These plain clothed cops could have been placed there for another additional reason -- filler. Fill the building with anyone but speakers and protestors. Intimidate and fill. That's the other reason they were not uniformed in my opinion. There are some real political maneuvering going on here and it is shocking she would go so far and spend so much time/effort/money for this particular cause.

We had our forces show up the prior meeting and now she brought hers - a tit for tat if you will.

And the fact that a department already burning through overtime dollars paid nearly 2 dozen officers to sit through that meeting on the County's dime is a point we should drive home with the supervisors. Even the ones who aren't big CCW fans are very sensitive to budget issues right now.

Yeah, drive that point home. Like I have said in the past, there are other things you guys can draw from. CCW seems to be decided with her. It's time to show up with 250+ each meeting to speak about other problems she has. Financial problems, intimidation and power issues, mismanagement, negligence, etc. Stop thanking her already. I heard too many people thanking her yesterday. The goal is to bring her down, not prop her up.

I'll agree. To much thanking going on.
One of the most outspoken in the first BOS meeting I attended seemed to have nothing bad to say at all this time, and stated way to much praise.

I'm hoping that it's not because he got what he wanted and doesn't need to worry about the issue anymore. We need to stick together on this.

I've taken that day off work in order to be there and I am trying to enlist other people that are 2A friendly to attend as well.

No what was really bizarre was having one of those lovely people shadow me so closely that I almost peed on her.
